Away Fans at City

Seen a few Swansea fans in the Wetherspoons in Altrincham yesterday. Not really good for coaches though I would have thought.

Wheatsheaf in Altrincham used to have away fans in,come off the M6 and its on the 56,probably better ringing them first

Its in High Leigh the Wheatsheaf its owned by a blue and has just had a refurb.

As for Lymm. No real big decent boozers and none open till 11am. Plus limited space to park a coach especially on a saturday

Newcastle and Sunderland coaches always seem to stop at Wetherspoons in Middleton centre when they go to either The Eithad or Old Trafford.
They can then get back on the M60 at Heaton Park and travel clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on which ground they are going to.

Thanks Manclad.... Appreciated.

-- Mon Jan 06, 2014 4:28 pm --

Cheers, reckon he'd take Cardiff fans if he's just had a refurb?

I'll pass the details on and let him check it out.

Cheers

I worked there a few years ago. The locations alright and you could get coaches in the car park but its quite a small boozer so it might depend on numbers. Haven't been in since I got sacked though so cant comment what its like :)

I've seen a few away coaches parked at The Boat and Horses in Chadderton a few times.
It's just off Junction 21 (M60) which leads to the A663 Broadway then onto Oldham Rd to the Etihad.
Car park seems big enough.

There is a Wheatsheaf in Altrincham too though; it used to be my local. I don't know what their policy on away fans is though.

I know theres a Wheatsheaf in High Legh, but the one I'm on about is in Altrincham opposite the George and Dragon, plenty of boozers about with the same name

Thanks Moon, Goater666 and Chedinho.

Is what we do when we go away from Cheltenham, usually many City coaches tend to congregate. Thought there may be a unwritten agreement....?

Leeds fans used to stop off in Rochdale.

After one Sunday morning game, I showered and changed in the Pub's cellar, which the landlord had fitted out a proper changing room for the team, into my City shirt as after a quick pint I was off to the match... I walked up the stairs an into the bar to be totally surrounded by......... Leeds pond life everywhere, 3 deep at the bar and the pool, darts room crammed with them?
I was literally the deer caught in the headlight. the landlord didn't help when he shouted "Didn't I tell ya about them coming in, they probably wont guess your a City fan (WTF!!) ?" .... a few of em saw the funny side of it and had the crack, but there was some dickheads who shouted "Fook off Manc Cnut" and "If you know what's good for you, Fook off quick ya Manc twat"...... before I swiftly finished said pint and got on my way sharpish as they 'politely requested'..... :-))
