I bet the players can't wait to get away from Eastlands for the next 2 games. The fans at West Brom were fantastic not only supporting the team but the manager as well.

Roll on Fulham and Stoke as I know we will get behind the team.

Yesterday was embarrassing, we were behaving like spoilt children.

It appears that we all believe the press and media : with all that money spent we should expect to beat everyone and be top of the league.

I'm a realist, it takes time to be a successful team and football club. Please let's give it time.

I'm going to Stoke but can't afford Fulham as well but I will supporting my team and I know those of you who are lucky enough to be going will also.

Re: Away fans support the team

It doesn't matter who you are, when you are at home you expect to win games. With us its very different because we have spent an amount of money in such a short space of time which has never been done before. On paper the players who have come in should be beating Birmingham at home, its really that simple. Thing is though not only are we not beating teams like that, we are playing shite football. People have a right to be frustrated.
When you play away from home the expectancy isn't there, plus in the main its a hardcore group of supporters. I used to go away on a regular basis back when we were shit, and the whole atmosphere of support is completely different. I go back to the main point though - spend that money on what look to be some fantastic players, and you should be beating Birmingham City at home, or at least look like a half decent side.
People got frustrated on Hughes, people have a right to be frustrated under his successor who has spent shit loads money again, but isn't really doing much better than we were this time last season.

Agree. Got tickets for Fulham and Stoke. Hopefully the same level of support that we gave at WBA will be given to the players and particularly the manager.

Hear what you say and don't really disagree too much.
I guess it's the balance between hope and expectation. I still hope to win a game whereas if you believe the press we should expect to win because of the money.

It just takes time to build a winning team. To be fair to RM he still hasn't got his first choice fit 11 players on the pitch.

You are absolutely right about the hope of an away win. But I do believe the away group of fans support in a more positive way. I know yesterday was borne out of frustration and disappointment but let's be fair as a group of home fans we have been disappointing for some considerable time. We are just not vocal enough. That has nothing to do with money.

Totally agree. I was at the west brom game and we gave Mancini our support even before we scored and it got louder after the first goal. As for the home support it is is always less vocal unless we are playing one of the tradional "big four". The last two games at home have been drab by contrast due to the style of play and the lack of support. You could feel the support from the fans ebb away both yesterday and wednesday...I wonder if we had sung "Mancini..." whether this would have had a similar effect to that of the Brom game.

Hoever, looking at the bigger picture we are still in with a shout and it is a long season...just hope we don't get another bore draw against Fulham next week...afterall we are playing the team managed by the master of draw...except his style of attacking footbal was more exciting to watch.

Re: Away fans support the team

i have tickets for fulham but in all honestly i dont think i'll be doing many more aways, its not worth the money, we are a shadow of the real manchester city ethic at the moment.
i was bored to tears yesterday and not for the first time, if i did'nt have a season i would not go to home games either, might do the biggies but not teams that we know we have no chance of breaking down with the system we play.
i left work early to watch that shite, how foolish was that.

4th in the league and 2nd best defence and 1 half fit proper striker.

Yeah let's not bother anymore.

If you're wanting to give away your Fulham tickets let me know.

i have already booked transport and staff cover or else i would'nt be going.
dont forget everytime i go and watch city i add at least 50 quid to the expense of the match as i need staff cover for my shop, poland cost me £120 extra so that week watching manchester city in total cost me £670, so i think i have the right to gripe about the absolute dross being served up at this time.dont get me wrong the away days are the best despite being expensive but i'm fucked if i'm wasting anymore time and money on that shower of shit.we lost in poznan ffs.

as for the 4th crap if we carry on the way we are we wont be there long, its only cos the division is crap we are still there now, people are catching us up as we speak, teams that have'nt spent 300m.

Re: Away fans support the team

The start to and pace of a game has always and always will dictate the way fans react, especially for a home crowd. The team had to show the fans yesterday that Wednesdays performance was a justifiable one and that against Birmingham, we would play differently and take the shackles off....

They failed to do that im afraid.

Re: Away fans support the team

De niro... You are right. Bolton are 3 points behind us after spending about 50 quid.
I will be at fulham and will support the team whilst there but it doesn't mean I have to be happy with the way it's going or the shite style of football we play. We set up like the away team at home so Mancini probably will be happy we are away.

Re: Away fans support the team

Something about wearing that blue shirt, we could sign Messi, give it 6 months and he'd be wank.
That yesterday was a throw back to the Pearce era, I didn't boo purely because watching that dross for 90 minutes drain every inch of life out of me. I'm undecided about Bobby but if he keeps sending teams out with that level of enthusiasm he won't be in the job long.

4th in the League we are. But come this evening we will probably be 9 points off 1st. That is what we have to measure ourselves against. We might not expect to finnish 1st this season but we should be a lot closer!

Re: Away fans support the team

It's easy to support the team when we're winning, i can 100% guarantee if we would have gone a goal behind at West Brom, the same crowd would have been going mental.

Re: Away fans support the team

Fans booing are just an embarrassment to most of us.
I don't think I have ever seen such a time wasting side as Birmingham and ref was poor no to stamp it out. Reminded me of watching England against one of these minor countries who were desperate for a 0-0.
On another day we would have smacked them 4-0 but just couldnt get that first goal.

Mate, with the way BOTH sides set up, we could have still been playing now and it would have been 0-0.

And there's the problem. We don't have the creativity in midfield to unlock a mass defence (someone like an Ali B or a Berkovic). And you can be sure that there will be plenty more teams coming to COMS with the same tactics as Brum. I certainly would if I was an opposing manager.

We have Silva!!!

The problem is that he and 3 others were left to try and break down 9 men of Birmingham yesterday. As a TEAM we have to press further up the pitch and commit men into the box or we will never break anyone down. Your right though, every team has sussed us out now and we are very easy to play against at home.

Thats true Jim, but we will learn to unlock these tactics eventually..If at first you dont succeed n'all that.

Agreed

I said years ago that the biggest problem with our club are the supporters ! Wednesday night we were a disgrace and yesterday a bigger disgrace.

Booing and singing for feckin Bellamy is a disgrace. Did anybody see the mighty bellemy against swansea the other week! Awful !

Nobody was happy yesterday but look at the date and the table and ask yourself if your happy where we are this morning forgetting yesterday? Any city fan that says no hasn't supported them for long !
