Away fans / tourists in home sections

persistent standing was the most stupid for me.............criminalising fans for standing up.

In areas where everyone stood up.

Cunts
Oh yes. Had that as well. I'm on the back row of my stand where everyone stood. The brain dead steward tried to get me and my lad to sit down despite the fact we weren't blocking anyone's view and everyone in the 30 rows in front of us was stood up.

we used to sit on the back row of the family stand at maine road and got asked to sit down, i told the steward to start at the front row then we could all sit down

How can you be banned when the case hasn’t been heard? If found not guilty how do you begin to work out compensation. And when you want a holiday you Joe have to check it doesn’t cross over with any England game or anytime we are playing abroad.
As @spinney has said, City have banned me, whilst investigations are ongoing.

The FBO is sought by the Police and obviously goes much further.

Despite the club insisting that my ban "is not an assumption of guilt".

City ban you as soon as a incident is reported to them either home or away , anyone found not guilty or not even charged then get their ban rescinded ..... but with no apology or refund of money from the games you missed
I know that but still struggling with the legality of it. On what grounds can they ban you, on the assumption you have done something they don’t like. It’s an utter joke. No wonder there are so many no shows at games?

Me and my 90 year old dad got banned for 4 games as we got ejected after an argument over him entering the ground with a brolly v Spurs. Two sides to every story with regards to the stewards is all I will say.

I went onto the FSA for advice as I was shocked at receiving a letter and they told me Citys T & Cs allow them to do what they want as regards bans, its very one sided.

The FSA did say however that I certainly had a case to go at City for discrimination/lack of provision for my dad ( he has a paralysed left arm and leg issues) but I didnt as the guy I dealt with at City was a really decent type.

Plus getting legal with City just didnt sit right with me and my dad.

OK, today's events in Court.

My brief got the case adjourned to 18 June. Primarily because the Met Police emailed their application for my Football Banning Ordet at 12:58, for a hearing that was starting at 14:00. He successfully argued that presenting this document so late prevented me from preparing a suitable defence. They also omitted to send any supporting evidence as to why the banning order was being sought.

The Met have gone nuclear on the FBO conditions.

3 year ban from all football.

Surrender of my passport for 5 days prior and 5 days after any City game outside the UK. This also applies to any England International games...like I give a fuck about England games.

1 mile exclusion zone around ANY UK stadium for 2 hours before and 2 hours after the duration of the match being played. So basically The Townley for instance, is off limits on match day.

Scandalous that they can apply these restrictions to a regular football supporter who has not been involved in any disorder in 40 odd years of following City.

So, I'm going all-in to fight this ban. Gonna cost some wedge but fuck me, there's no way I'm taking this lying down.

This kind of draconian punishment is now being sought by Police for literally the most trivial of offences, under pressure from Govt. The lads who showed the Liverpool fan the door can look forward to the same. Shout at a dipper, the same. Argue with a steward, the same.

With all clubs complicit in changing football support forever. Behave, don't be over passionate, don't swear, don't stand, don't walk aggressively, dont disobey a stewards instructions...or the old bill will end your football supporting days forever.

Bunch.
Of.
Cunts.
Football has gone utterly fucking mental. The sport we grew up with no longer exists. Fight the fuckers mate

Thanks my friend.

Like you, I'm a cantankerous old bugger and to be honest, if this costs me my SC, as City have threatened, I'll walk away from matchdays.

I'm 63 now and had a fucking blast watching this Club through thick and thin. I think we've had the best of times. It's the young Blues who will have to deal with this shit moving forward and I don't envy them.

Thanks for suggesting the funding, really appreciate the sentiment, but I fight my own battles and can afford the fees, and I also happen to think its money well spent. I'll save about £7K per year not going home and away, thanks to the ban, so effectively City are paying for my legals anyway.

Luvvly jubbly.
So sad for you mate. Football is a huge part of your life for decades and the cunts can take it away just like that. City as a club has deteriorated more over the last 2 years than the entirety of our previous history combined. At least when we were shit we had our identity. Football as we knew it is fucking finished

Gone mate.

The tipping point on the horizon is the clubs chosen demographic for the new stand.

If the hotel wasn't there I'd be confident of a proper home end. The hotel, by definition means tourists, the death knell for decent City folk who will be forced out by ludicrous pricing

I'll give season cards a maximum of 5 years until they are consigned to history.

I’m 66 so I’ve had a lifetime of City and 50 odd years of a season ticket. My lads are 16 and 18 and City daft, I fear what’s ahead for them, certainly not the City I grew up with. Our current senior management are fucking our club over, and what’s weird is they’ve managed to do it during our most successful period on the pitch

I fear you are correct. As a family (3 generations) we have 5 season cards all sat together in SL3.
The day they consign season tickets to the bin is the day I will personally stop going. I am sure my kids wont.
As previously mentioned, due to some ongoing health issues I have now missed Newcastle, Madrid, Liverpool, Plymouth and Forest away today so far. My last game was the Tarquins away.
Have I missed going? Yes of course because it has been part of my life for over 43years. Not missed the 'matchday' experience but missed spending quality time with my 3 kids now 24, 15 and 12. Its what we do. Its fun. Seeing the same people sat around us on league games, those friendships you form. On c.league nights there is 1 person who is the same as on league games. I really dont like c.league and am personally unsure if i will continue in the scheme but fomo for final tickets is the deciding factor for me. My kids are City mad and say they will never ever stop going but as I have gotten older I am more relaxed about it. I want to be going for the next 25 yrs and hopefully the club will listen. My lad wrote a superb letter to the club for this meeting. I am sure he wont mind me putting it on here.
The new stand should be priced correctly so a generation of blues who have been priced out can return but I fear this is simply a pipedream.
In a perverse way I want us to be relegated to league 2 because the club would simply have to revert its pricing policy and for me the tourists would fuck off. Here is the letter he wrote. If you read left to right. The last attachment is his response from the club.

Fuck off Col. They don't have standing in the platinum chairmams club you liar.....

Because football grounds are private premises and nobody has a legal right to enter premises (or grounds) owned by somebody else. So although it's stated as a "ban" in reality his right to enter has been revoked.

The FSA are all over it mate. But clubs are banning fans for anything now. My ban is for any match that involves MCFC across the country, which they cannot legally enforce. They can ban me from The Etihad but cannot ban me from any other property (stadium), as they have no jurisdiction.

But I've seen plenty of Blues stopped at away games by City stewards, giving it "you're banned mate" and denying entry.

They cannot do that, but we have to accept it. Fuck off.

Go figure.
They can ban you from buying tickets via the club website, and that includes away games. I don't know if it prevents someone buying for you and transferring via F&F.

Or at away games when City fans were instructed to sit down while home fans were allowed to stand in the next block. Yes, Sunderland AFC, your stewards were twats.

It's not shocking; it's bollocks.
That would mean 1 in every 18 seats was empty and I doubt that is correct.

Do you think you'd even notice? It's not much more than 1 person per row, and in an otherwise full stadium, I doubt that would feel unusual. Even when most games are sold out, there's usually one empty seat somewhere near me.

Hope you’re feeling better soon mate.

Top post by the way. Of course, I don’t want us to lose the 115 case but I do feel that with the direction the club is travelling the generational link between fans is going to be broken. The decision to not offer new season tickets going forward will stop kids following in their parents and grandparents footsteps. When we were dogshit and in the second and third tier we never had to worry about any of that. That’s one of only a number of serious issues of course. Match day pricing for league games is another big one and it smacks of short-sightedness. The club could still make a fortune in ticketing revenues without pricing out our core supporters or denying them the chance of getting on the season ticket ladder in future. There’s a place at the club for legacy fans, new fans, and tourists, yet certain people at the club seem hellbent on alienating the former.
