Next season there are 10 teams more than 180 miles away from Manchester,

Norwich, Arsenal, QPR, Tottenham, Chelsea, Fulham, Reading, West Ham, Southampton & Swansea

With Bolton, Blackburn going down there are now only 5 clubs outside of Manchester: 50 mile radius (Rags, Wigan, Everton, Liverpool and Stoke)

Would certainly be beneficial to get some of the longer journeys out of the way at the start of the season though before winter and latter stages of competitions.

Hope the fixture list is friendly to us

From a supporters perspective it's going to be an expensive season following City for Manchester based blues what with cost of petrol so high

Looking at the away fixtures, which matches are going to be the most to least difficult to get tickets for?

Do you think that demand for Away games will drop due to matches in Europe or increase in direct correlation with our success as Champ16ns?

Team and Miles
Wigan 26
Everton 34
Liverpool 34
Stoke 46
West Brom 78
Aston Villa 81
Sunderland 140
Newcastle 145
Norwich 185
Arsenal 193
QPR 194
Tottenham 196
Chelsea 198
Fulham 198
Reading 199
West Ham 206
Southampton 222
Swansea 230

I know it's an early stage but would be good to see 3 of the Southern teams get relegated - maybe Chelsea, Arsenal & Tottenham

Unlikely but would be good to see Blackpool, Blackburn and Burnley promoted

I wouldn't count Sunderland or Newcastle as close either, both take longer on the train than to London and cost pretty much the same.

So it's 12 long distance/expense away games.

One of the few good things about being this side of the Irish sea, away days in London dont cost much more than home fixtures (when $ky dont fcuk us about with changing kick-of times), and the North East sides can be done in a car with 5 sharing the diesel (& driving), though probably wont be booking ANY games until the draw for the group stage of the CL, as would love an autumn break in Barca, or Bayern away (as I missed last year due to a court case).
Been too many years since I last made it to West Ham so hoping for a saturday trip there, and a home game Boxing day and NYD with a game in the NW for the saturday in between for 6 days in Manchester, though all could depend on the financial settlement the Union are currently in negotiations about giving me more spends.

Southampton away is nailed on for a Monday night, you just know it!
Hope not, Norwich away was my best away day last season. Southampton would probably be similarly good.

i get 174 for Reading. Its definitely worse than previous years, and i can see a lot of regular away followers, ditching the london games and saving the money for epic European adventures ;)

I worse thought, thats ^^^^ just one way !

mind you im usually sleeping off the beer on the return journey.

If all these games were 3pm kick offs then there'd no problem getting there. The problem lies in the 5.15 and 12.45 kick offs. These make getting to the likes of Norwich and Southampton much more difficult.

It's because they cant be bothered with those high-speed rail links. Even their plans seem to be carefully designed to somehow avoid the north east. Transpennine express is sadly the only real way at the moment.
