He was good in the first half but he was appalling for their equaliser.

At the moment, I’m struggling to see why we spent close to £60m on him. It shouldn’t take such an obscene amount of money to buy players who are good on the ball. I fear Pep might have been a bit impulsive here.

I suspect we would have been more open in the first half with Vinny in the side.

I am yet to be convinced by Laporte but he’s certainly more composed on the ball than present day Kompany.

Vinny would have gone in hard and clattered into Mane in the build up to the first goal, Laporte was hesitant, that Spanish passive defending just wouldn't cut it.

The guy was utterly world class first half. He plays the ball with elegance and a zip that nobody else does from the back and he WILL start next season as the #1 CB. There is a reason pep insisted on the dollar going down in January.

He was absolutely outstanding for the most part and in the most difficult position, a back 3 against Salah, and handled him well 1v1.
