Just throwing this out there, but wonder if we'd had the results of the medical back and wanted to pay fee in instalments?
Surely City would have briefed the press that we are not interested anymore? If Bilbao refused for example that we pay in instalments

Obviously it's bad news for us but if he doesn't want to play in the most competitive league in the world with one of the best teams playing in the champions league and winning trophies pretty much every season under the best manager in the world who's playing style suits him down to the ground, then I'm pretty sure he's got the bigger loss in this one. Problem is now we have to find someone else who would fulfill that role, and there aren't many out there who could do that apart from stones.

My thoughts are he had agreed to come and bottled it at the 11th hour shit bag, enjoy a trophyless career!

Wow, relax mate. He is only 22 years old. Don't forget he has a major injury, could understand if he wants to stay at his club. Not every player will want to play for city and that's okay.

Which club was it who pulled out of a deal and then fucked the selling club over by announcing the medical reasons as to why they pulled out? I'm a ****, so that's the trick I'd pull on Athletic if it's the case.

well , if a player doesn't want to come , you can't force it

sucks for the player though...0 ambition

What gets me is that this is the 2nd year we tried to sign him.....Txiki must have felt confident to go back in for him?.....everything pointed to us even getting ready to pay his release clause....This summer isnt going as smoothly as I hoped so far.....Maybe it was Stones OR Laporte and not both as we were originally thinking???
