Couldn't give a hoot. Lots of good players around and we will just move on to the next one. Vertonghen and Alderweild cost Tottenham about £20mil. Otamendi and Mangala cost nearer to £65mil. Relax ...... we'll have other good players on the list.

I agree, wouldnt be the first time mate. I got to be honest, dont have much confidence in him after the results of the past few transfer windows(other than Kev!) and for allowing us to get old and slow at a number of positions...just want him to prove me wrong!! So far we pulled out of the race for Pogba after 2 summers of chasing, missed on Laporte after 2 summers of chasing......sorry got to type this to get it out of my system!;)

Instead of blaming all and sundry why not accept that some players don't want City for whatever reason

He wasn't prepared to submit a demand to leave ind invoke his buyout clause.
Fair play to him to have loyalty to the club (not that his club will have loyalty to him beyond the end of his new contract).

It could still happen as Fernando caved in before he came to us in the following summer, but in reality €70 MILLION is far too much money for us to come back with an offer.

That said in many respects this is good news as it gives Jason Denayer a chance of making it at City - a player who I really think is class.
Fixed for ye' !

Not sure how people are blaming Txiki here. The lad is turning down a chance to play at the highest level under Pep freaking Guardiola for considerably more money. He clearly wants to stay at Bilbao and that's not Txiki's fault at all.

It's gut wrenching and all too embarrassing, but City needs to move on.

This ! you can't really blame Txiki here

Loyalty is a huge thing in Bilbao. Le Tissier and Maldini have been given the 'One man club' award by them in the past, so the players themselves must have it drilled into them from a very young age that staying at the club is the best thing to do.
