Aymeric Laporte

He was a kid at a place he regards as home and has looked after him. Thought it showed a humbleness rarely seen in the game.
Remember what happened to Savic, too early in my opinion, his confidence suffered, yet has come good at Athletico Madrid.
Maybe he didn't feel ready to leave and had a change of heart at the last minute, it happens ( Delph.....?)

Surprised we back in for him after he rejected us but I'm glad we are....young, talented and can only get better under Pep. Looks like missing on Sanchez has given us some urgency in our transfer dealings, if we can get Laporte and Fred signed off before window closes we've done some excellent business. Lets hope all these reports are true...

This seems an odd one to me after the whole Sanchez you only get one chance thing and if you go back on your word the club walks away to go back to a player who so clearly turned us down 18 months ago seems more than a little odd. I'm going for this is player and agent driven and City have moved on from this target.

There's a massive difference between pulling out of a deal because you're scared, young and recovering from injury, and pulling out of a deal because you decided money was more important to you than trophies.

City was a massive opportunity and a big step up the ladder. He turned it down. You think that makes him someone we should covet again?

If you were a kid and played for City, (back when we weren't this good) and someone like Dortmund came in (remember we've come a long way in 18 months). Would you go without a seconds thought?

Think we can allow the kid to have cold feet, and we don't have the divine right to assume everyone wants to play for us.

He's a little older, City a little better, Bilbao still not really going anywhere. Perhaps his mindset is totally different now.

Circumstances totally different to say, Alves, or Alexis, who went back on their word for more money.

Correct. Taking a big move too early can wreck the career of a young player. SWP would have been better off staying at City rather than going to Chelsea for example.
