Anybody think Pep may look at moving Dinho into a defensive role like he did with Mascherano?

every manager ever: "I Want all my signings before pre-season starts" clubs sending helicopters for players on 31 August

Pep "I want all my signings before pre-season starts" half a new team in place with 8 games to go the season before. Pep is a boss.
IF!

Anybody think Pep may look at moving Dinho into a defensive role like he did with Mascherano?

i do, but only when playing a bottom half team where extra creativity will be needed or when playing a three at the back which i think he will do.

i think fernandinho will be a success in that position and showed glimpses he can do it when deployed there in the derby.

the modern game for me allows players like fernandinho to play in central defense. you only have to see what success chile have had in recent years with a back three consisting of pretty much all midfielders, and barcelona with mascherano.

Why not otamendi and mangala are both players who do press a bit and maybe a bit more freedom to do that in the defensive mid role would be good for that
Hehe
I thought you were referring to Otamendi and Mangala actually doing some defending ;-)
I don't think either of them should play in the middle on account of their passing ability (or lack of!)

Manchester City working on Laporte signing: the defender has already said yes

Pep Guardiola is getting ready to start the next chapter of his career in the Premier League. The former Barcelona coach has already officially joined Manchester City where he will replace Pellegrini, he has already started working on improving the squad. The top objective is to bolster the defense, Aymeric Laporte is at the top of Pep's wish list. Laporte is a great young talent who is however currently injured and will be out for the next two months. Manchester City's lawyers are already working on paying the €50 million exit clause to acquire him from Athletic Bilbao. While Laporte has many suitors- including Barcelona- he has already agreed to to join City because of his admiration for Guardiola. Laporte is on his way to the Premier League.
