He could be, definitely. Perennially linked to Barcelona but owing to being a Bilbao player, he was never going to come due to the valuation by the Basque club. Hence, Umtiti at a bargain price by comparison.

But, there's no question Laporte is a super talent - just whether he has truly recovered from the fractured leg & dislocated ankle. He ticks all the boxes someone like Pep wants in a central defender and will easily settle into the Premiership as a partner to Stones

We haven't announced it yet but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not been registered yet. Either way, he's a young lad arriving in a new country for the first time and we have three centre-backs of his ability or higher in the squad for tomorrow already so I don't think we should rush him.

Really ? That match could arguably be tougher introduction than both West Brom and Burnley games !

Put it this way,he is fit,and available at that kind of money,he be put in pretty sharp I suspect,especially with our little issue at left back,unless Zinc continues for the next few games that is
