On the BBC web site, saying we deserve CL and were better than Arsenal.

Somebody should tell him if you let in 2 soft goals and only score 2 in reply then you are not better than the opponent.

Also with that attitude of deserving something rather than give your all for it then is there any wonder that we are more than likely to miss out on the Chumps League.
 
That was not the takeaway from that article. The main thrust was 'the players only have themselves to blame'.

So you've started a thread because you've taken someone's tame opinion of the outcome of a single match offensively?

What about the use of the word deserve?

Does he not understand it because he is French?

Dictionary definition "to be entitled or worthy."

Entitled is what the landed gentry of this fair isle feel, worthy is what Leicester City are.
 
He very clearly is not using the word in an 'entitled' sense. He's clearly saying that the team was good enough but the players did not play well enough, did not play as well as the should have.

And he's right, although the role of the management is just as great.
 
Not that bothered about what he may/may not have said. I do think we're absolutely desperate for a better right back and Sagna isn't good enough. I appreciate he's lauded on here by many but I don't see anything other than a fairly solid defensively sound player which 10 years ago was fine and dandy but these days not enough.

He's done okay this season but yes, we need an upgrade. Given his age and the sharp decline that can come, then I'd be happy to let him go or keep him for one last season as a squad player.

But overall, a good signing given the price.

He's been a very good signing, no grumbles for what he's done but moving forward he's not what we need. He doesn't have the engine required, his short passing is poor and he doesn't support his man going forward well enough. He looks a bit lost when in possession. None of those things will help him next year where I imagine the full back will be spending as much time in the final third as the defensive one.

If we were to sign Vrsaljko, I wouldn't mind having Sagna as a squad player to help with the more defensive side of the game.

Agreed. The squad needs a huge overhaul but we aren't going to be buying two new players in each position and I reckon Zabs will be moving on.

I could live with him being a squad player which would mean we've brought somebody else in. I just don't see how he'd fit into a quick passing, play from the back type team.

Wasn't getting at you mate, it was the word "deserved" that really got my back up.

I know he was accepting some of the responsibility for the dross we have had to endure this season, but we all know who the main culprit is.

But frankly if we do not get fourth spot we will not have deserved it.

Yea, not very well. Two new full backs are a priority. If we don't have the CL income next season then our transfer budget takes a hit so we will have to retain players who otherwise we might pay off.

Agreed. We do not deserve it given what's happened this season. Still want it though!

I'm presuming you couldn't find anything negative to say about that? Is that why you ignored it and concentrated on an out of context phrase or even just a single word?
