Bacary Sagna at it now

Agreed. The squad needs a huge overhaul but we aren't going to be buying two new players in each position and I reckon Zabs will be moving on.

Or 1 new signing and a young player as back up, like Denayer for example or Maffeo?

I'd get rid of all four of our full backs.

Ideally I would as well but can't see us going with untried backups. At the least I expect Clichy to remain as he's HG and can cover right back as well. My thoughts on Sagna is basically he's got one year left and is probably too old for another move. Will cost the same to keep him or pay him off.

How can anyone think we actually deserve CL football when we only take 7 points from the 14 games against our nearest challengers.

Even Newcastle took 14 points, Norwich 11 - from the top 8

He can't be that stupid to know that unless you ACTUALLY score one more goal than your opponent, you're no better than they are. However many chances you make etc etc.

The headline is -

Blame players if Man City miss out on top four - Bacary Sagna

I'm presuming you couldn't find anything negative to say about that? Is that why you ignored it and concentrated on an out of context phrase or even just a single word?
Spot on CL.The fucking forums going daft with whinging about fuck all, especially when the title resembles nothing like the thread title.

Baracy Sagna is 100% correct the only people to are the players. Once the players cross the white line the manager is powerless if they don't perform as they should. The manager can only make 3 changes, once the game starts. It I sup to the players to do as the manager instructs them.

That's like me stabbing you in the throat, your friends telling me you didn't deserve it and then me telling them that you deserved it because you got stabbed in the throat.

Sorry, first example that popped into my head.

On the BBC web site, saying we deserve CL and were better than Arsenal.

Somebody should tell him if you let in 2 soft goals and only score 2 in reply then you are not better than the opponent.

Also with that attitude of deserving something rather than give your all for it then is there any wonder that we are more than likely to miss out on the Chumps League.

Listen to him again - not just the bits reported in papers.

What you say is correct, once the players cross that white line the manager is powerless if they don't perform as they should.

But what if these same players continually fail to perform as they should each time they cross that white line!? Does the manager not come in for a portion of the blame then??

So if he KNEW that if we played with the same intensity and effort all season as we did against arsenal, we'd be much better off, it begs the question why wasn't this addressed?
He's basically saying we should blame the players for not trying. Well, surely, you'd drop the players that aren't trying.
Believe me, there's going to be a lot more revelations coming from inside the club once the post mortem of this season gets going.

I tend to agree that there's more to this than we know. Maybe one day Pellers will publish his Bio and all will be revealed

Yer can't really deserve much when you drop points against teams in the bottom three - draw at NUFC, draw at Villa, draw at Norwich. Those six extra points would have sorted it. Too many times this season the team has played very badly and deserved nowt!

yeah but the manager is responsible for the playing style of his team and our playing style have been shit for 2 seasons now

and dont get me started on the offside trap

Sagna has been one player who has tried to show the same passion in all the games this season. I do think in terms of sheer consistency I had rate him top of the squad.

If the manager has nothing to do with it, anyone could be the manager. I could do it.

"Go on lads, I've picked the side now get out there and make sure you win"

Easy...
