Didn't the woman admit that she completely made up the rape allegations against van persie? If so then it would be outrageous for a paper to mention it routinely IMO. Suarez was found guilty of his offence so whilst it may not be particularly relevant to the story, it's not entirely unreasonable for them to mention it. If and when Ched Evans ever restarts his career, I imagine his "past" will be mentioned all the time. That said, it is quite funny to call van persie a rapist when talking to united fans.

Suarez was found "guilty" by an organization vice-chaired by the Chief executive of the team on which the accusing player is under contract, based on no video evidence and the players' testimony alone. I'd venture to say that its more likely that the woman was paid off by Van Persie than Suarez actually racially abused that french CNUT.

But you said enough for me really, "not be particularly relevant to the story, it's not entirely unreasonable for them to mention it". Give it up man, you've even contradicted yourself in the very same sentence.

Suarez reminds me of Bellamy in that he is a pain in the Arse when playing against your team, but when he is playing for your team he divides opinion amongst the supporters.

All that shows me is that Suarez was the only one that cared about winning. That gif shows us what we already know, Liverpool have become a second-rate club with almost no team spirit.

Not personally a big fan of Suarez, but he's a damn sight better than Mario ever was for us. I'd rather him not be coming at our defense...

Think the gif sums him up perfectly, a player who gives his all and the ability to put it in the back of the net, however can divide opinion and is not particularly likeable.

That isn't a contradiction. I said it isn't particularly relevant, I didn't mean it is entirely irrelevant. It is relevant to the extent that the story is about Suarez and Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing somebody. And can we just clarify that Suarez admitted using the words that he was accused and found guilty of using. I have little time for van persie but he was accused of rape, he spent time in prison, the case was chucked out of court and then the woman admitted making it up. I don't care if he plays for united and that this is a City site, that is an outrageous thing for any person to have to go through. For you to allege that he paid her off when there is absolutely no evidence to suggest this is ridiculous.

When did footy become a popularity contest ffs ? Unless a player has been convicted of something like rape or manslaughter or a serious assault then I couldn't care less if he's an obnoxious twat.

For some reason the media demonize this lad, I think it started with his world cup handball and all the red top reading morons who can't make up their own mind about anything just follow along like sheep. The same morons who for years bought the cliche of Ryan as a devoted family man.

Well we saw it with Bellamy, if a player is a bit of a twat and he signs for your club then he becomes your twat and the twatiness almost makes them more endearing in a way. If Tevez or Aguero were to leave, I'd have Suarez like a shot, no doubt, but I'm not sure how he would fit into a squad alongside those two. We need Cavani!

Suarez is so perfect for us that it hurts me not to see him here.

Disagree about Cavani, sure he's a great goalscorer but so are Edin and Sergio. We need someone to play in the hole.

From what I have seen of Cavani he can do all sorts. He is great in the air, can hold the ball up and bring others into play. He is strong and quick and can run the channels and he is a great finisher too. I think he is exactly what we need tbh. For me Suarez is too similar to Tevez and Aguero. If our three main strikers in the squad next season were Aguero, Cavani and Suarez, that would be incredible. It's not going to happen though, unfortunately. I like Edin a lot but I don't think he's quite good enough, if I'm being honest. Cavani is twice the player.

Cavani has said he hopes the buy out clause in his contract (about £50m) won't put anyone off making a bid for him.In other words he wants a club with lots of money , and champions league football to make a bid for him.Narrows it down somewhat!

Hope I haven't been clarkied.

I said on here during the last World cup in 2010 that Suarez was a top striker , and one worth signing .. you only had to watch one or two of the goals that he netted for Ajax and Uruguay to see that.

But nobody listened , he hardly got a mention on here as Spain took the trophy , and not even Liverpool took any action at the time ..... although in January , of 2011 , they did ultimately get the message !

Let me first state that by me saying "its more likely that", is meant to say that both are ludicrous. Suarez' incident clearly was a witch hunt, and would have been a non-issue had it been reversed on a Liverpool player. It was a shining shit-covered light exposing the political power of the Rag twats.

Van Persie's incident is probably nothing, but so was Suarez' incident.

Whatever you said, discussion about transfers has nothing to do with an event that happened over a year ago, unless you're a rag twat trying to stir the fucking pot. Mentioning the row was as relevant as if they had mentioned Van Persie's alleged rape.

Just let it go man, don't try to defend shitty "journalism". I know its endemic in the English press, but don't defend it please.

I'd be quite uncomfortable with Suarez in the side. Can't imagine he'd have a positive influence with the other players - no, Cavani all the way for me.

Is this a joke? You can't actually be serious.

Suarez (age 26) who is a Liverpool first-choice striker..

He has played every minute of every game in his preferred position centre-forward.

Suarez serial diver a cheat who does not deliver on big stage...

When it matters most, (FA Cup final) only flattering to deceive...

Balotelli (age 22) was City's 3rd/4th choice striker...

He was continuously being played out of position...

Balotelli is big game player who deliver on big stage when it matters most..

He was crucial to both of the club’s greatest triumphs;

Earning man of the match honors in the FA Cup final... And

Setting up Aguero’s goal that won us the title....

To say Suarez is a damn sight better than Mario ever was for us... IS Bizarre beyond words.

You don't think Saurez is world class?

Whoever daubs him as world class is irrelevant - he's one striker I don't want at The Etihad. thoroughly obnoxious individual!

I said the very same thing about Bellamy and grew to love the ****.
Personally I don't like his behaviour but didn't think much of Marios behaviour on the pitch but still cheered him on the pitch. I would like to have Suarez at city just cos of football ability s

There was no need whatsoever to add Evra line to this story but that's journalism nowadays. Specially, since some rag wrote it probably.
To be honest there was, and they should have included "buck toothed, moaning and diving cünt" to the line as well.
