Bale to consider future

Don't think Bale would really fit our system but worryingly he'd be perfect for United or Real.

Bale would be 100% perfect for Barcelona (except for his nationality maybe) and Barcelona ought to be perfect for him. - He'd be the left side version of Alves.
I hope he goes there so we don't have to face him here in the PL, and Tottenham will be a weaker side no matter who they bring in to replace him with.

Bale out: City set to offer Spurs £40m players-plus-cash deal
Massive transfer would see the Welsh winger triple his salary and potentially see Adebayor and another star swap Eastlands for Tottenham

Manchester City are ready to make a £40million raid on Tottenham for Gareth Bale.

Super-rich City will try to make the move happen by offering the Welsh wonder THREE times his wages, which would put him on over £100,000-a-week.

The league leaders' Arab owners have given their blessing to the staggering swoop, and are ready to propose a cash-plus-player package.

Bale may be tempted to make the move after dropping heavy hints that he will review his future this summer.

He said in a recent interview, “If we don’t [qualify for the Champions League], I have to discuss what’s best for myself.”

However, sources close to the situation say that even qualification for Europe's top club competition will not stop the move happening.

Bale has been heavily linked with a move abroad, with Barcelona in the frame, but staying in the Premier League and competing for the title and other top prizes may suit him more .

The contract that would be on offer at Eastlands - worth almost £30m over five years - makes it almost a no-brainer for the Welsh star, who is arguably the best in Britain at his age.

Background work on the transfer is already going on but the nitty-gritty of figures will be hard for the negotiators, because of the size and nature of the move.

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor - on loan from City to Spurs for the season - would make his switch permanent if the clubs can agree the more complicated part of the talks.

The big striker is still on a giant wage and Tottenham would not want to pick that up, so his final value in the deal will have to be carefully assessed.

City may also offer another player in the deal if Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and his chairman Daniel Levy do want to play ball, with Nigel De Jong and Adam Johnson both potentially on the list of candidates.

Bale

Bale transfer sanctioned . . . 40 million . . . This is on Talksport so not confirmed. . . . Old news i see.

I Really want this to happen. If at the end of the season we lose Hargreaves and A.Johnson we will need to replace them with at least 2 English or Welsh players to meat the homegrown rules so this would be great.

Bale would give us loads of width and pace but if he was to be signed at the expense of Hazard I'd be disappointed. Hazard looks like a future Ballon d'Or winner, can't see Bale quite reaching those heights. Signing BOTH of them would be scary but can't see that happening either, just like I can't see Hazard and Lavezzi both joining.

I think our #1 target will be Hazard this summer, he seems like a total Mancini-type and would fit us perfectly. Bale would maybe act as a backup if we don't get Hazard.

if we get bale over hazard and hazard ends up at a rival i'l be absolutely gutted....kick and run VS kick and run+skill+vision+awareness+potential....ok i know bale's a talent and im making him out to be shit but hazard is just a much better player and prospect IMO

I'm not sure I want this to happen. Bale is a great winger, but apart from being a winger, there's not much else in his locker.

The way Mancini seems to have set up is to have an attack like this:

Nasri..........Tevez.........Silva
...............Aguero..............

(the names are merely a formality here by the way)

From what I've seen it seems Bobby has the 3 players behind the striker roaming and swapping places with each other all the time. If Silva is drawn to the right, then Nasri, or Tevez will go left, and then we'll try and penetrate through the middle.

Also The striker and whoever is behind the striker will change and swap (one-two passes) until there is a shot on goal.

With the Purchase of Hazard, we can still maintain this formula, but also have fantastic pace and crossing ability. From what I've seen Bale isn't as strong at creating unless he's on the wing. I'd rather have the multi-ability of Hazard.

As for getting both, I just can't see it. It would mean that so many regulars for us now would not be playing as often. No point upsetting the current harmony of the team which has put us top of the league.

Remember blues, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Our squad is great as it is.

I'm still not convinced that "Width" is the answer to our problems anyway. It's just a nice "plan B" option. Hazard can do 'Plan A' and 'Plan B', Sorted.

My opinion of course.

Good post, and I agree.

I would take Bale, but not at the expense of Hazard.
