Are the ball in play stats recorded anywhere? I'd love to see the ratio of available time vs ball in play time when City go behind, when the game is drawing and when City go ahead.

Watching the first half vs West Ham, as they'd scored early, every opportunity to waste time was taken and i'm not surprised 4 minutes was given although it was just over two minutes for the 'injury'

I'd love a change in the rules to a 30 minutes of football each way rather than 45 minutes of whatever - can't see it happening, possibly due to scheduling, but it would be much more fair than the subjective view of some plonker with a whistle. I'd even settle for someone in the stands to issue the added time because often the referee gets it badly wrong

Agee use the rugby system of timer in stand with stadium clock which stops when ball is not in play, then 30 mins ball in play will stop time wasting which is cheating

The time keeper element of refereeing should be removed from the referee. We need a completely new approach. The ancient and 'found-wanting' system of playing 45 mins each half is now no more than a fiction. "The fourth official has indicated a minimum time of 4 minutes" is one of the game's biggest contricks. It is totally meaningless. We need 'ball-in-play' time! Goalkeepers can then waste all the fuckin' time they want, and tossers who feel that the most appropriate tactic at various times of the game is to sit down and wait for an indulgent and ineffective referee to come to their aid, will have their antics negated, because they can stay down all day if they want - the game won't restart until they are off the pitch or they carry on!

We need to bring back the electric carts we had at the 94 world cup
A player goes down the cart comes on and takes him off for treatment then he stays off for the treatment he needs or till the ref let's him back on either way he's off the pitch and the game goes on
It will cut down on the play acting

Easiest way to cut down on the playacting is to allow the player to be treated whilst the game carries on.

The biggest bitch I have that when a player goes off injured and he can walk,he should be made to get off the pitch at the nearest point NOT to the fucking half way line.Time and time again yesterday the fuckers were going down like ninepins and fuck knows how many minutes were wasted waiting for them to get off the pitch.

I find it interesting that you can get stats on pretty much anything football related yet the ball in play statistic either isn't logged or isn't published.

There have been some laughable games over the last few seasons when a team takes the lead against us but vs West Ham was ridiculous. I don't blame the wham players for trying it on, it's down to the ref to sort but when he fails to do so, for whatever reason, it really spoils the game (for us)

Agree would love to see this statistic also

The biggest con is players going down with cramp. In fact I would love to see a stat that shows if players only get cramp when there winning and where there are self inflicted injuries like cramp a ref should hold up play for the length of time of the stoppage and the player stays off the pitch for the same juration after the game has restarted
