Messi has already been awarded a trophy for being the best player at the world cup.

If Haaland wins the treble whilst being the top goalscorer in the top two elite competitions in the world (PL and CL) breaking 30 year old records of the former and nearly breaking a 100 year old english football record all at 22!! and doesn't win it, it will be the biggest robbery in the history of the award, close to when Lewandowski should have won it in 2020 and they scrapped it.
