Ballotelli sending off at Arsenal

Agreed. If we are to have any hope in winning this title we don't need need him anywhere near the first team. Yesterday was like we were reborn again. Let him get some help and see if he transforms for next year.

Mancini actually commented in an after-match interview that he didn't see the incident (the tackle on Sagna that went unpunished) at the time or at halftime and that had he knew, then he would have brought him off there and then.

fair point the bummer is if he had seen it and bought Tevez on at half time just think how different the situation would be right now.

Don't get me wrong mate, I still think there were questions to be asked as many could see what was likely to happen after the first yellow, but I don't think Bobby was fully aware of where Mario's head seemed to be at (one which I personally think he should have given Mario's tendency to make the wrong decisions sometimes), I just don't think it was as clear cut once you hear Mancini's comments.

He got sent off on purpose so he could get a transfer. Next question.

Yet him and his agent have just declared he wants to be here for the next few years? Wheres the logic in that?

Because he was our only attacking threat and our most in form striker?

Only this and add it was a must win game.

It was plainly Mancini giving him his last chance to either impress or implode.

A very risky tactic though, obviously.

But tbf to Mancini he didn't seem to know about his challenge on Song until after the game, so it can't be said that that was a factor... For everyone who did see it then it would've been far more obvious that he was near the edge.

Who knows whether the decision to persist with him has paid off or not? Time will tell. But for sure the problems at Arsenal and before that were down to more than just Mario. There was a wider malaise that seems to have passed. Again, we'll see...

Highly unlikely as Mancini declared his happiness at the shortness of the ban and went on to say he would use Mario in the derby.

-- Sun Apr 15, 2012 2:33 pm --

Call me crazy but maybe we have been better because we have played weaker teams. Silva was rested. Clichy, Richards and Lescott are all back in the team?

I dont know just a crazy hunch I have.

Is that including or excluding goals from penalty's?

Ballotelli was your most dangerous player against us. He did make some rash challenges that should have seen him go earlier, but I don't think anyone else in your team was chasing as he was, digging in and trying to fight. Frustration of falling behind utd when you have been ahead all along is making some of you pick on him as a scapegoat...but I don't think Ballotelli is the reason you lost that game. We simply wanted it more. It's like we wanted to prove that you can buy our players but we are still better. We were first to every ball and just generally sharper. If anyone would have scored for you in that game it would only have been Ballotelli. Mancini also doesn't help by always giving the media some ammunition against him. I think some of you guys forget how young he is and the number of goals he has scored for you. Don't forget that the likes of Rooney and van persie were also very volatile at that age...but they managed to mature and concentrate on their game. Give him a chance. He is a good player.

Like i said it was just a thought,

what concerned me was why Tevez only got a couple of minutes at the end of the game, he started against West Brom a few days later and so i don't think his fitness was the issue.

I just though it must be difficult for Mancini to drop Mario for Tevez given everything that has happened. The fact that he got sent off removed the need for this decision to be made.

I don't believe for one minute that he wanted him to be sent off and agree completely that Mario can produce a moment of magic, however i am not sure if Tevez would have been in the starting line up for West Brom or Norwich if Mario wasn't banned.

As it turns out it was proberbly for the best.
