Balo VS Dzeko

Instead of saying Balo VS Dzeko, I would say Balo and Dzeko. If they co-op like Dzeko co-oped with Grafitte at Wolfsburg, with good service they will do wonders. They could be a real net busters.

if tevez goes i think not siging another striker would be out of the question. im not saying i dont believe in the quality of dzeko and mario but you need a minimum of 3 class strikers even if only one plays each week.
i wouldnt worry about dzeko, if you can score goals in the champs league then you cant be half bad. it just takes time to ajust.

i think mario will be class once he realises hes star man, i think if we make him feel special hel turn on the class, kind of like ronaldo did at the scum.

Bolded part I have to strongly disagree with.

When you play one up front you can't have three world-class strikers.
One (or two) will start bitching about playing time.
All that gets you is bad chemistry between them, with each one looking at another as a threat rather than teammate.
If you played two-striker formation then you might be able to get away with it...

I think having too many class backups at almost all positions has been one of the problems for City in recent years...they don't say 'money alone cant buy you rings' for nothing...City needs one great backup for Silva, and then bunch of role players... But - feel free to disagree.

THIS.

There seems to be a good relationship developing between Dzeko and Balo - and that might be something great in the making for City...

Balotelli is 10X the player Grafite is (all due respect), and we all saw what Dzeko did when teamed up with another striker.

They must play together next year. Full stop.

I was surprised that Balo was only just over an inch smaller than Dzeko and that he weighs considerably more. If the weights are correct that would back up my thinking in that Balotelli is stronger than Dzeko.

If we had to choose one to play I'd go with Balo. But we could play as others have said with Balo just behind Dzeko. Also if we decide to play one up top with wide men then Dzeko can be up top and Balo could be a wide man. This would lead to a world of possible formation changes if needed as well.

Good point. I wanna see that partnership come to life.

I think for the moment Balo but both in the long term, as Dzeko sounds like a really sound lad who with a good pre-season can come back a 15/20 goal a season striker for us. Once we work out how to play them both and utilise them effectively, there's no reason why they can't play together.

I even think Tevez/Dzeko would work but at the moment we're better as a 4-5-1/4-3-3 so I think Dzeko will just have to look at the long term, don't be throwing him into big games for the sake of it because he won't be match fit and he doesn't have a lot of confidence, build him up in pre-season against weaker opposition in a team that complements him and I think he will grow into being a great striker again, we know he is from his time with Wolfsburg and Bosnia.

Balotelli, well you never know with him but you'd hope he realises how working harder made such a difference on saturday and that he can try and keep that level up for the rest of the season and beyond, because he'll utilise his talent more by working harder and then he might develop into a world class striker, rather than one that many are unconvinced about, some hope will come great and some that have already written him off.

But for me the first issue is Tevez and whether he stays or goes should be done by June, get him out of the way if he wants to go or make sure we know he wants to stay long term and play ball, either way we can't do anything if we don't know whether he's staying or going during pre-season.

I think they will play a lot of their games together up front or with Balo left wing. But both can score goals naturally , both have qualities which should get them in the team and I am sure next year Dzeko will certainly get in the team because I can't see Mancini spending 27 million for nothing .

Balo would clearly be our top starting striker if tevez wishes to leave, after that performance on Saturday i saw a change in effort and work rate from him. It hasnt happened yet for Dzeko, he will eventually come good but if along with me you have seen the type of goals he scored in germany.
Balotelli has so much potential, even though he wants to move to milan, he is comitted to city untl they come in for him, for me balotelli all the way.

Another vote for why not both? Dzeko did tremendously with Grafite which benefitted both players, each scoring ~25 goals in a season. Balotelli doesn't seem like a selfish player and I don't think he would mind having someone to assist, as well as someone to assist him.

If Dzeko can score twice on the rags in the CL then why shouldn't we pair him and Balo up?

It depends on who we sign for me. If we sign two top class wingers. In Jesus Navas and someone else I would like to see how Dzeko would get on with good service from the wide areas. If we dont then I would like to see how Balo would cope with the Tevez role but at the moment he is not ready to lead the line on his own for the season. I think if Tevez goes we must try and replace him. Saying that who can afford Tevez? Barca and Madrid would be the only options in Spain. Chelsea in England as for the Italian clubs I think he would be priced out of a move there. We should be looking for big big money for Tevez since he has signed he has scored 51 goals in 2 seasons you just dont give away World Class players for small fees if we are to sell we should be looking for Torres money or more.

Just to point out. That boy gets extremely home sick, he's like the Spanish Leighton Baines, he'd never do well outside of Spain.

There's no way Dzeko is only 80kg, Goal can't even get the weight of a player right.
