Balotelli v Welbeck

Maybe Balo needs to go on a season long loan at a mid-table club?

This might adjust his character.

it seems to have workedfor Wellbeck at Sunderland, it worked for Sturridge at Bolton.
Maybe Balo with regular game time for the likes of Blackburn or something might give him a kick up the ass he needs.

Give Mario regular game time then we can judge him against Welbeck.

Maybe Welbeck needs to win 3 leagues and a Champions League before the age of 20 before we start drawing comparisons

Ability wise Balotelli is the winner hands down for me, attitude it is Welbeck,it is worrying that Wellbeck may go on over the next 10 years to achieve more ,whilst Balotelli throws it all away, for me he hasnt done enough at City yet to compensate for all the agro he causes.
I wonder how long he will survive here, this is a make or break season.
If Balotelli cant see the quality of the players at the club and the direction it is going and get is head down and work to be part of it , he doesnt desreve to be here and will utimately be on his bike

He needs to do that with us, no good bringing up his Inter record, couldnt give two fucks what he has done in the past, time to get his head out of his arse and show us the talent he undoubtedly has.

Wellbeck, would be lauded on here if he came through our own youth, limited talent but a speed merchant, suits Utd but it is his attitude that will see him go far, like some of the other average players for them over the years.

Please guide my slowly through the thought process that led you to come up with this conclusion on the 23rd of April 2011 at 10:34.

Hopefully you see where I'm going with this.

The rags come out with quotes like this when they were trying to talk up the likes of O'Shea and Carrick.

Lets forget history and which broke through first. Let's also wait until after one decent game from Welbeck... Welbeck will be a very decent player. I hope Balo gets his arse in grear and starts proving what a great palyer he already is.

No point having potential if you're can't fulfill it.

Wellbeck is a trier who gets his head down & makes the best of very limited talent, Balotelli is a drama queen who wants to be the centre of attention & makes the worst of fantastic talent.

If he suddenly gets Wellbeck's mentality, he'll be one of the best players in the world. If he carries on as he is, he may end up in even more obscurity than Wellbeck eventually will.

This says it all. Balo needs to apply his undoubted talent. He's obviously not short of self-belief, but attitude and effort get you everywhere in sport, and at the moment both of these attributes are questionable with Balo.

the process is a very simpl one attitude attitude attitude attitude etc etc etc

history shows this time again, look at the career David Platt had , the teams he played for and what he achieved, compare him with Gazza a player from the same era.Look at average players who have played for Utd for years and had succesfull careers,
Where did you get 23/4/11 1034 from alk me through that slowly
Balotelli needs to sort out his attitude, simple

Its difficult to use medals won to determine how good a player is. By that logic, Phil Neville, and Jonathan Greening are world class footballers.

I hate these comparison threads that I always see on "ragcafe" but last night it was enough. A good mate of mine who is a die hard rag had the nerve to say that Danny effing Welbeck is better than Mario Balotelli?. I mean one goal and one assist and he is "miles ahead" as he had more assists than Mario last season for a weaker team. At first I thought it was a joke but he pressed on and on to the point I had to stop replying AS HE REALLY BELIEVES IT.

Even Mario haters know this cannot be true please dont let me find out there are those on blue shores who feel the same?. I mean this is blasphemy. I tried to say Mario has already won more and contributed more on a club, cup and national level and his response was that Giggs had won more than Zidane doesnt mean he is a better player. Is there any discussion with that bunch I dont get it?.

Does anyone feel that Danny Welbeck is a better player than Mario Balotelli please list reasons why?..

I'm sorry but words cannot describe how stupid your good mate is...

Exactly but you get nowhere without a good attitude and work ethic , Ballotelli needs to develop this quickly, the saying more trouble than he is worth springs to mind

Great idea.
Blackburn are not a mid-table club.
So let's pay him £150k a week to play for someone else in a relegation dogfight, with every chance of him getting injured with a massive European and domestic campaign on the horizon.
Are you sure you've thought this through mate?

You bring up logic but you make a daft point. No one said anything about world class. Damo made a comparative statement.

By the way, its hard to bring Neville and Greening into the equation, because unlike them, Balotelli was sort of pivotal, wouldn't you say?

Balotelli wasn't pivotal when they won the Champions League or those titles, although he did score a mean free-kick against Kazan in the group stages. He mostly came off the bench. He hardly played in the knock-out stages. Sneijder, Milito, Eto'o, and the defence were pivotal in Inter winning the Champions League. Under Mourinho, they fell out a lot. I just believe Balotelli still has much to prove.

Has Welbeck won the ballon d'or for youngsters ? Has Welbeck proved himself on the biggest stage ? Balotelli has miles more experience , more skill and is all round a better player. His attitude can be questioned but when he is on his game, he dicks on Welbeck every time , just look back at the FA cup final to see that .
