I have a mate that was a Baltimore City Police Officer for 11 years. He has nothing nice to say about the City.

I asked him if things in the City were like on the programme The Wire. He told me yes. Yes, but it is worse in that city a LOT worse. According to him, they should burn the whole thing down and start over. It looks like the residents are trying it on their own.

Just watched this video. To me it clearly shows a racial divide between Black/Whites with many of the white people being in some bar/pub area and many Black people outside.
The only Black person I saw stood on the side of the white group had a clear T-shirt which said: Security.

Is this a racial issue or a poverty issue with the likeliness of being on lower incomes far increased in The USA based on your ethnicity.
So if you're Black/Mexican you're more likely to earn less, live in more impoverished areas than White people (although there are poor white areas)

For me this is an issue of the gap between Rich & The Poor with Race just being a smokescreen to keep us more divided and fighting amongst ourselves.

if say in my community there was 200,000 of us who had no hope of a future, no living wage, and down the road was around 10,000 people who lived the life of luxury in nice houses, great salaries, nice stores, I'd be going down to their neck of the woods and fighting them, stealing their shit and "rioting" no matter what race/religion I was, and no matter what race/religion they were.
The police brutality issue would push me to riot even more and send my blood boiling.
Black/Mexicans are more likely to be stopped by police than Whites over there.

We whites aren't blameless. Blaming doesn't solve anything for anyone. At this point, they have to make a move toward integration. Drop the separate language that creates barriers to them getting jobs. Because we've tried scholarships for AAs, free housing, racial hiring quotas, busing white kids into black schools and vice versa, we've tried everything under the sun save for reparations. Why, because I don`t know how I would react if I lived in the same circumstances. What I do know, something has got to change. The richest country on earth with so much poverty is obscene.

Not all the people in that video are from povo neighbourhoods though. They probably had to choice to fuck off out of the city or lock themselves in their homes. Wouldn't the fact many immigrants that have come to the USA came on their own accordance, well prepared for success, whereas a large proportion of AA's are from the slave trade era and were given a shit standard of education?
