I'm not condoning the actions of the idiots, they deserve the punishments they get, but the point you make is spot on. A 5.30pm kick off was a ridiculous decision and was always likely to lead to trouble.

Don’t think the two situations are analogous tbf. Arresting this guy was hardly the crime detection event of 2019.

I wouldn’t rule out GMP arresting the wrong person - probably just arrested some random in a City top !

This behaviour is not, as most in the media would portray it, football's problem. It is a societal problem, a problem of ignorance, a lack of education. It only becomes a football problem if we fail to roundly condemn these actions and to deal with the perpetrators. What angers me is that this guy should totally disregard, disrespect and deny everything that this great club has always stood for.
