thought it was great with bananas, the smoke, bangers, 115 / 116 flags and surfer.. Its how a big game should be.
You know, back in the day, I used to laugh contemptuously at any ground where they had instruments, megaphones etc... I just thought that it was fake atmosphere... cheap... plastic.
Now we're faced with atmosphere issues aswell, I welcome all that shit haha bring it on! Whatever it takes to make Etihad a fortress, I'm all for it. Bring fucking pieces o' cannon, for all I care haha

I knew Frank Newton through the fanzine lads. I may have been at the West Brom game. Dunno. I am sure that I stood next to Imre Banana on occasion. I definitely remember the Stoke game. Best away day ever. The low point was wearing all-yellow kit at Arsenal [Swales said never again after that] with giant bananas thrown into our end. IIRC Brightwell was captain and just looked embarrassed. We got hammered as well.
Anyway, it looked good last night. I think that saving them for special cups games is spot on.

Agree....they add to the colour and atmosphere of the big occasion.
Made me smile. He was a good sport about it at the time and it's certainly kept his name going...
