i work in a bank (good one, not the bastards who screwed the company) legally they have to inform you that they be taking the funds from your account.

check your last statement and it'l prob be on there that they are gonna take monies from your account.

just ring them and complain. they'l refund if its the first time its happened

i also work for a good bank. Legally they do not have to say- Its on statement

Kinky affro - Which bank is it ?
I will sort of it is where I work and will PM

Im with Natwest mate.

The thing is with reclaiming the bank charges is that i was under the impression that once you successfully reclaim any charges then you cannot do it again, ever? Am i right?
I haven't had many over the years, maybe 4 or 5, so would rather wait a few years until i do that (i'm 23).
Basically i just dont wanna be charged again next month.

I work in corporate,(not Nat West) so have not been in retail for a while.

When its one of my customers and its genuine mistake I will refund

I used to work for Nat West and they have different systems in refunding, I think they have to do a memo somewhere and unless its bank error you will struggle

Try asking the manager in branch and just admit it was a mistake but would really appreciate a refund due to a being a one off. Some common sense might prevail.

I'm with Lloyds TSB and have been since 1984. On the odd occasion I have fallen foul of this I've just phoned them up and explained that it was an end of the month oversight. They can confirm this by looking at my history and have waived it EVERYTIME over the phone. That's why I've never changed banks.

I have never heard a good word about Natwest under these circumstances. Fook em off if they don't waive them and bank with someone else.

I had a few charges a couple of years ago so im not holding out on a refund on the first charge, just the one i might get next month.

I was charged 3 £38 charges a year back and went into the branch explined my problem
Told them i hadnt realised and they waved them!!
Try your luck you never know when its in!
(That was natwest also)

dont shout & ball but just say that for being £2.00 overdrawn that you feel the charges are a little high,if you are rarely overdrawn they should waive the charges!

He's right. If the advisor says no then ask to speak to a manager. If the manager won't refund it then ask for the address of the complaints department. Make sure you the full names of the people you speak to.

ok kinky ive had this problem before too, ring up the help line and tell them whats happened over the phone if you keep nagging they will drop all the charges just pay the £2 off first espcially if your card doesnt have an overdraft which it sounds like it doesnt then they shouldnt be letting you get overdrawn so it's their fault explain it all and blame them and they have to clear the charges they cleared mine. BTW dont bother with a branch use the phone they dont help for shit in those places

Tried that all the way up to letters to the Chairman.
Got nowhere.
