Always more to these stories than meets the eyes. I don’t have much sympathy for this fella, I wouldn’t have the gall to spend money I knew wasn’t mine, no matter how much “reassurance” was offered

I don’t get how they couldn’t trace where the transaction was coming from to notify who’s money it was. That size of money moving round should be traceable but like you said more than meets the eye. I would have been shit scared to spend it, there’s no such thing as free money.

Mrs Moon had a £1.5k payment from her/our Occupational Pensions office 2 months ago, nothing on her on-line statements but,as she had to change pension schemes (Civil Service) a few years before she left which hasn't been settled yet it could be from that....anyway she emailed them (rather than the bloke above 'checking') and had a reply they'd get back to her within 5 working days. Approximately 60 days later and nothing.....

We've just took it out of our current account and put it in with our other savings for the time being until it's sorted. If nothing happens in a few months we'll consider it ours, if it's found not to be sometime later at least there'll be an email timestamp and they can have it back at £10pm.

I’d still be scared to spend it but the bank have cocked up there giving him the wrong info.

£1.00 per month by postal order.

Hehe IF it needs to go back I'll be going for less than £10pm and may get down to a quid.

When the RBS were pulling the rug we owed them £25k. The money was there it was just in property which were on the market anyway. We took advice and we started paying the RBS back at £1.00 / month by postal order ( not cheque or d/d ) When the properties sold we were again advised to negotiate the final payment and a starting point of 80% was suggested. I started at 40% and we agreed on 50%. I'd made £12.5k thanks to the RBS.

Seriously why would you go out and spend a huge chunk like that when you clearly know it’s not yours. Hilarious him saying he’s left in disbelief that he’s been ordered to pay it back.

I had one, once. Deposited £200 in cash but £500 showed up on my statement. Played dumb for a few months but nothing came of it. Kerching.
My guess is that the cashier hit the 5 which is below the 2 by mistake on the teller machine.
