Barca v City Post Match Thread

I am really looking forward to the next couple of years. Forget the scoreline tonight....we are a team in transition. Pep needs time and clearly there are players who will soon be replaced that are just not good enough for the City of the future. No disrespect to them but the likes of Clichy, Kolarov and Zabaleta will soon be gone and Pep will bring top top players into the club. Pep has been working with the team for just a couple of months and there will obviously be problems along the way.

I am not sure how we will do this season but I believe our future is going to be absolutely fantastic....it's gonna be one hell of a ride.

I find that German bottled beer at Lidl does the trick for me ;-)

I've had a few Leffe tonight, those big 75cl bottles, and all it's done is got me shouting at the telly, giving Pep a BR tactical masterclass, and falling out with the wife.

We better get better quickly or I'm divorced.

It s a big mystery to me that he threw out Yaya and Hart .

Does it need to be such a mystery for Yaya? Afterall, regardless all the other stuff that has happened recently, it seemed obvious that as Yaya was getting older his overal performance over the year was in visible decline, there is nohing weird to me to replacing aging players with declining performances in principle and the picture seemed to fit Yaya perfectly even if he was still a ver good player capable to some great moments at times.

Manchester city is rich, splashing around money is more limited by how much they are allowed than they could, a team like that can afford to buy the very best available at any time and the longer term decline of an older player would be the obvious moment for a change.

quite a lot of them actually. I'd have their entire back line, keeper and some of their midfielders, same with Arsenal. I think you're wearing blue tinted glasses if you think our squad is in better shape than theirs. We're probably on par with Liverpool

I too would take their entire back line, especially the full backs.

I bet you weren't saying this when we were on a winning streak
Sorry but we beat Sunderland, Swansea, Stoke, the bottom 3,West ham, Bournemouth, piss poor United team. We should have beaten Everton I agree. But the only class team we have faced Spurs were all over us. It was good to watch and sure as hell Pellegrini wouldn't have got 18 points on the spin.

You can dress it up as much as you like (just as the happy-clappies did when we failed to score away against the two worst defences in the Prem last season) but that was our heaviest ever defeat in Europe. True it was against one of the best sides, but we never looked confident up front. We had chances, but wasted all of them. And I've never really understood which bit of "played well" includes so many individual fuck ups. Bravo's cock up ultimately cost us, but surely Stones' (I think) piss poor header from a free kick just before the break was as bad and might even have been worse. A goal at that point would have given them something to worry about.
Hopefully Southampton will play a strong team tomorrow and they'll still be knackered on Sunday.
