We played little to no pre season. This is a pre season game. Very simple.

Looking forward to seeing a complete rotation of the team and more minutes for Lewis, JWE, Palmer and so forth.

Can it even be called a friendly, when the opposition is so unfriendly? There were reports only a couple weeks ago that a Barca official tried to bribe UEFA into punishing us. It’s in the middle of the season, midweek between two important PL matches. Shouldn’t risk any injuries IMO. My line-up:

This is good. Players like Alvarez, Phillips, Gomez, Lewis can get some competitive game time, and we can try new tactics. Having little to no preseason and facing Crystal next weekend make this a good opportunity.

Hopefully plays only players who need fitness. Our squad looks thin atm esp as we seem to be so injury prone but annoying we are doing this with that awful club who have nothing but distain for us

Down to two fit senior CBs already. No need whatsoever for Stones or Dias to be on that plane. Send the EDS and fringe youngsters like Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand, plus a couple of those needing minutes like Phillips, Palmer etc
