It does make one wonder whether certain clubs in our league are making payments, or if the system is just so corrupted they don’t even need to bother.

As another poster has pointed out these are criminal charges and are not to be adjudged by any independent body.
Reminds me of the current Nottingham Forest owner,who faced multiple charges, 20 I think ..linked to intimidation of Greek refs,and match fixing ...
One of the charges was being involved in the blowing up of a bakery owned by a ref...the owner ,iirc,was cleared of all charges,promptly passed the fit and proper test,and became chairman of Forest.
Power Corruption and Lies...allegedly.

This is different from our travails. Barca officials are being prosecuted in the state's criminal courts for offences connected with payments made to a referee/referees. No independent enquiries by La Liga commissions, a straight criminal trial - presumably any sanctions on the club by La Liga will follow if the cases go against the officials.
Yep. This is the only point to be taking in. It's not some Mickey Mouse investigation by sad UEFA or PL officials. This is straight to jail stuff.

No absolutely none at all, there’s never been anything in our fine league until City got the investment…..
