Kevin Horlock has just tweeted: "Enjoy the game tonight Blues You lot deserve it more than anyone !!"

he also put #youweretherewhenwewereshit

he really is a top bloke is Kev - he was a great servant for us at a more difficult period in our evolution, never let us down on the pitch then and never lets us down off it now, remember him twice in the Green Man at Wembley, had time for everyone - would love to see him on ITV/Sky rather than twats like keane and yorke

Ffs stop flapping boys we're their equals how can anyone watch the complete piss taking of Chelsea and not be confident that was a masterclass in the complete nullifying of a teams threat Pell knows all about the main dangers posed by Barca and he will set up his tactics accordingly we have the quality to match the worlds best if we can stop them scoring an away goal and take a lead to Spain I feel we have the quality to go through.

-- Tue Feb 18, 2014 3:02 pm --

Has to be Garcia and Fernandinho with Yaya further forward.

Navas to start for the counter and protecting the full back.

We can expect a lot of aimless punts upfield by Hart, under pressure, so big responsibility on Negredo to win the majority of his headers and have Yaya and Silva joining up as quickly as possible.

............................HART..............
Zab........Komps......MDM.....CLICHY

...............FERNANDINO.......GARCIA......................

NAVAS...............YAYA..............SILVA

........................NEGREDO................................

Hear hear, but I think Kolarov will play, we need his crosses.

Kolarov would get destroyed by Sánchez. To beat Barca every single City player needs to defend for their lives when they have the ball, we can't have Kolarov casually jogging back to position as they will overrun us. Clichy's pace is needed.

Hart

Zab - Vince - Jolean - Clichy

Garcia - Fern

Nasri - Yaya - Silva

Jovetic

Subs - Pants - Navas - MDM - Negrado - Kolarov - Dzeko

City must start with 2 forwards because you need to win the first game if you want to go through. Barcelona is known to play way better at home and they destroy teams at Camp Nou. City's only chance is to win the first leg and then play on counter at Camp Nou and even that may not be enough. If city doesn't win at home they are out of the competition. You have every chance of winning as long as you play your game and attack them, if you change your game and set up differently and let them dominate you could get pummeled.
Yeah, because it's impossible to win a football match with one striker. Barca are the prime example of this. If they played with 2 strikers they might actually be a decent side. Amateurs.
My point was that City always play with 2 attackers (with Pelegrini) and that is the system that they are used to and changing it would be wrong. If you change the formation you are adapting to their style of play instead of playing your own. Barcelona has problems at the back and City could exploit them if they play attacking football but if you decide to sit back and pack the middle then you are playing exactly like they want to.

PS Barcelona plays 4-3-3 with 3 attacking players, Silva and Nasri are great players but aren't as attacking minded as Sanchez, Neymar or Pedro. Silva's finishing is awful and Navas is a winger so I would go with 2 up front.
