Once again, it was the Lionel Messi show. Neymar and Suarez need a ton of chances before they can get the ball in the net - it's lucky fopr them that Messi creates so many for them. Otherwise, a pretty rubbish game with all the diving and fouling.
Suarez's brilliant goal changed that game.

The diving and theatrics was doing my head in, but the football was magnificent. Ref had an impossible job.

Ancellotti might be out of a job now.

You saw that game as Messi carrying Barcelona? No wonder he is the god of football and ten times as good as any player that ever played the game. This world cup he carried an awful team to the world cup final. Best player of the world cup, nobody has ever done better at a world cup.

Suarez did take his goal really well. He wasted a few other good chances though, as did Neymar.

Luckily, I think all the diving about is pretty much restricted to this game, and the rest of Spanish football is actually pretty entertaining.

Messi show? First time I've seen him on the pitch was at around 70th minute mark. He was nowhere while Madrid players still had strength. Only when they got tired and opened trying to score a 2nd he got some space for few runs. It's bordering pathetic to call this game as Lionel Messi show.

There league might be technically better than the premier league but all that diving and cheating shows what a load of cheats they are. Much prefer our leagues.

I admit it is a bit of an exaggeration - but I do think he was the best player on the pitch, certainly in the second half.
He set up lots of chances for Neymar and Suarez, and if they had put half of them away we would all be raving about Messi.
I'm not saying he carried Barcelona - there were a lot of other good performances (if you see past the diving).

He was good in last 20 minutes when Marcelo (and pretty much everyone else from Madrid) got tired and there was lot of space through their midfield. Give him that kind of space and he'll be best player on the pitch, no doubt about that. But for most of the game, Marcelo and other Madrid players made him very, very quiet, they just needed bit more strength, specially when Modric couldn't keep the midfield anymore.

I can't really argue with that, except to point out that he did also set up the first goal with a well-flighted free kick.

Anyway I'm calling it quits and wish everyone a good night

Barcelona should go on and win La Liga now, they haven't won it for a few years so are due a La Liga win.

Ancelotti is on borrowed time, it is almost time for Real Madrid to sack a manager anyway he's had too long. Dead man walking. He lacks passion and his record in league bred-and-butter football is awful. A knockout manger, not a all-time great.
