A few years ago, about seven I think, I was lucky enough to win a competition in the M.E.N.
The prize was an all expenses trip to Barcelona, taking in "El classico" against Madrid.
As a footballing experience, it's something I'll never forget.
The atmosphere is quite unbelievable.
Packed to the rafters, everytime Madrid got the ball, the whole ground just erupted in whistling and jeering, for the whole 90 minutes.
The hatred the Catalans have for "Franco's team", is quite chilling.
Ofcourse it's more than just a football match.
There are massive political undertones as well.
It really does make our local derby, seem like a pre season game !

I read somewhere else (I think it might've been a Barca fansite) that it's confirmed for the Wednesday night between the Blackburn and Wolves games. Bit late for a pre-season friendly!

Everton are playing in Europe the following night, so they're not coming ;)
