Barcelona, WOW

If we follow the successful model that Barca created i will be very happy.

I certainly wouldn't.

In fact, over two legs, I think Man Ure would be given a hugely demoralising football lesson (again, but much worse this time).

The best chance Man Ure would have would be ONE game against Barca, where they might get lucky and win by the one goal if things went their way.... although I personally believe that Barca would beat them be it in one match or over two legs.

that.

I don't have to say what happened the last time Barca played the rags, it was there to see the Masacre.

That only happened because rednose'd pride wou;dn't let him play negative football in the final, over 2 legs if you play negative you beat them, biut for a refferee last year chelski had them and the year before that the rags did them.

messi is immense. i really do think he is the best player in history.

Messi's a great player, but he's not in Maradona's league mate, now he really was something else, a player who won titles for his club & country almost single handed!

Unfortunately we'll never know how much of that was down to the fact he was coked up all the time. Dirty, horrible, odious c**t of a man.

I don't like him, can you tell ? ;)

Messi imo could be the next Maradonna if he carries on at this rate, Messi is the closest player ever since Diego finished, no one else has looked like following in his footsteps, then up came Messi, if he keeps it up he can do it.

Talent wise, messi is really talented. The most talented player in the world right now no doubt about that but maradona is much better IMO. Messi lacks the character of great legands (not the legs). Maradona used to have a great impact on his teammates when things get tough, apart from his talent he was a Real leader in every team that he played in.

Am a fan of Messi and i watch Barca almost every week, but he tends to shy away from the spotlight. If you never seen Messi before and watched for the first time a Barca game you wouldn't know who's messi from the rest of the Barca players (you may even mistake him with Iniesta). He just doesn't stand out much.

This year Messi grow up a lot in term of football.
I still don't sure where he can reach at the end of his career, still a long way to go and see.
Now people compare him to Maradona more than ever because Messi is now nearly unstoppable that flash people memory to Maradona.

i wonder if yoonited somehow avoid barca and inter in the next 2 rounds. they will get bordeaux imo.

I suspect that Uefa want a MANUre v. Barca replay so that the CL 'partners' reach as many people in the far east as possible, so I think that MANUre will avoid anyone capable of knocking them out next round.

nah, still ronaldo (the real one) for me. in his barca and early inter days he had to be seen to be believed. it was like he was from anothe planet of something. i remember an inter v real champ league game and he just tormented them for 90 mins. was brilliant to watch.

Messi is class. But if he played against Stoke he wouldn't be as convincing.
That first goal last night was a gift. The Stuttgart defence just let him run at them, backed off and backed off, then let him rifle it in. Great strike but was definately gifted to him.

fat ronaldo in his pomp was just unreal.

same goes for ronaldinho.

however messi and ronaldo (non fat one) i think are even better.

and if im honest, i think ronaldo is better.

Couple of months ago Shaikh Mansoor invited Joan Laporta(President of Barcelona Football Club) to his palace, Barcelona was playing In the (2009 FIFA Club World Cup)Which was being held in AbuDhabi , We have good relations with Barcelona and i remember Joan Laporta saying that MCFC will be one of the top clubs in the world in the next coming years, He mentioned that after he met Shaikh Mansoor and listened to the ideas and projects he has in mind.

So within the next couple of years we might be playing like Barcelona or even better then them.

Hopefully we get to see messi in our league, maybe he can prove you wrong? I don't know how he would cope against more physical sides either.

How many of rooney's goals have been gifted to him, though? I reckon there are more, e.g his headers against Milan.

Agree re rooney. i thought even we gave him too much respect. just hit the fuckers hard, they'll soon lose their head.

Yeah but Darren Flechter wasn't playing, he would have single handedly kept Iniesta, Xavi and Messi in check.

Did a game get postponed or something because he couldn't play in the final
