Just found this article:

It's the first i've ever seen of this kind, no one usually dares to question Barcelona.

MCFC: 100% record against barca :D i hope we get them in the group stage too but not the knockout

We played them in the Joan Gamper trophy in the 70's aswell, pretty sure we won that too.

Ah, maybe not, we did play in it (1982) played Inter though, and lost.

Sorry to be the one to break the bad news

but we have played Barca more than 3 times and i think we have lost some of them

02/06/52

I went to the 1986 pre-season Trofeo Colombino tournament in Huelva where we beat Barcelona on penalties in the semi. I've tracked down a website that has all the match details:
http://www.rsssf.com/tablesc/colombino.html#86

My memory must be playing tricks on me because I thought Eric Nixon was in goal for the penalty shoot-out, not Perry Suckling. I do know for a fact that Eric was on the tour because he let me kip on his and Nicky Reid's hotel room floor because I was a skint 17 year old at the time.

That game was also memorable for me because I remember having some banter with Mark Hughes as he trudged off the pitch about losing to the true Manc team. I managed to blag a press pass for the tournament and remember in the press room after the game Terry Venables bunged me a tenner for my cheek. Happy days. Couldn't imagine that sort of thing happening now.

I was there as well. Remember giving Hughes a lot of stick when the Barcelona bus turned up and then in the ground! He got so pissed off with us that he asked to be put on the other side of the attack!

I was also there in 1974 in the Camp Nou for Barca's 75th anniversary. We lost 3-2, but I don't remember too much about the game (the old vino tinto!).

Managed to see us win the Joan Gamper a couple of years ago. We only had two shots on target (Petrov goal, Bellamy wide in the last minute), but it was sweet beating them!
