Barry - Better than you all think !!!

Some of Gareth Barry's footwork is sublime, as is his passing. Oh, and he is not beyond digging a bit when the situation requires it! For me, he is our most important midfield player.

barry has been fantastic this season. thought he had a good game at spurs and since then has been better and better. seems to have gained a bit of pace and he always makes a good simple pass.

He had a good game yesterday - and, to be fair he has, generally speaking, begun the season well. Please God (or fate or whatever you're having yourself), he'll be able to keep it up, now.
I'd have been one of those who criticised him, on here, last season, so I'm only too glad to be able to say good things about him now.

Barry has been brilliant so far this season. He's another one I'd be quite happy for him to be captain.

FWIW -
The Actim Index is the official player ratings system of the Barclays Premiership, Coca-Cola Championship, and Scottish Premier League. It is compiled and distributed by PA Sport, a subsidiary of the Press Association.

It can be found over at ESPN Soccernet - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/actim?league=eng.1&type=ALL&page=1&date=20100925&cc=5901. Last week Barry was 28th overall and City's highest rated player. This week he moves up to 19th overall, Joe Hart leapfrogging him to become City's highest player. Again, FWIW. I've watched all the City games this season, and all the Real Madrid games this season. IMO, at current form, Barry is playing better than the much-heralded Xabi Alonso.

Thought he was fantastic, lead the team in midfield.

The tackle on Ivanovic was quality, strong aggresive, just better than them. Not many teams will do that to Chelsea.

Lets all have a moan at him.

Time to be positive.

Always been positive with Barry, the dowels and the glue that holds the joint together. He has on the odd occasion, a mere handful of times, misplaced a pass, upon which too many fans have jumped on his back. Our fortunes this season are going to rely to a large extent on Gazzer getting an absolute maximum of game time.

High praise indeed.

I love talking in clichés.

Hmmm... I wonder if I could squeeze a cliché into every post for the rest of the day? Don't answer that I'm just talking to myself.

Yep I'm one of those Barry bashers but I'll take my hat of to him this season he was immense yesterday and that tackle on Ivanovic was great.

Every time he plays for England he gets slagged off by the majority of the England fans. What I see, at least, is some very good passing. Most people can't see what's in front of them.
