Soft shite didn't fancy doing a stint in the army, so he sh*t his pants and did one
He refused to serve in the IDF? Excellent, my new hero. If only every Jewish person in Israel did this.

If they did Israel wouldn't be there for very long. Perhaps that would suit your agenda Skash, baby. ;-)

I remember him scoring a header at Maine Road and running up to the bench Rosler style in 1996 and pointing to his head. Apparently Big Mal had bollocked him all week about his heading in training.

I was about 9 when he signed and I remember him being seen by me and my fellow 9 years old City fans as a bit of a Robin Friday style seventies long haired n'er do well who never tackled or 'tracked back'.

I think his success levels as a player speaks volumes about his actual talent. Most of his career spent at Orient.

Just like Robert Newton was born to play Long John Silver ,Barry Silkman was born to be a Football agent.

Well get of us old timer's fucking thread then ;-)
I'm certainly not too young to remember the **** he is now though. I'm always suspicious of football agents, they strike me as natural cunts - must be something in the blood...

I've met a few in my time. Some are ok - great for anecdotes if you can get them to talk. Many are absolute shysters who have no feeling for the game, however. In fact I would say the majority fit that description.

Very vivid memories of him playing for us back in 79 not long after I started watching the blues.

Anyway don't know if this was a coincidense but he was on 5 live this morning telling Nicky Campbell about him trying to bring a player back into the country from Spain for a about £5mil. Deal fell through even though a fee was agreed between club even though he would have more than doubled his wages. The player didn't fancy it over here.

Wouldn't name the club or player. But then he did go on to harp on about when he was at City and we farmed him out to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Not sure if it was a coincidense him talking about us or whether he was trying to tie up a deal for someone Gago perhaps???

average at best - in an average team

Average ? I remember him well and you're wrong. He was crap.
One of Big Mal's (several) mistakes during his second spell with City.
