Agreed, I would add Lescott in there too, we need players like them beside the "superstars" to do the dirty work.

Lescott does a job but i dont think I've ever seen a pro footballer pass a ball like that. it drives me nuts

He is ultra deliberate but how mnay of his passes tonight found a City player. 100% wasn't it?

Lol! I meant rankings and not ratings :P

Barry had a good game and probably edged out Silva for MOTM.Yaya also stepped up his recent performances although i believe he can still do better,he looks a 90% player to me.
Zaba did a decent job when he came on but tactics and tempo suffered due to the loss of Kompany and Boateng being shifted inside.
Zaba is a great pro and performs well against anything other than the very best widemen, unfortunately thats when his lack of pace and clumsiness is evident, subsequently he is the target of many opposition attacks.

Micah,on current form,is our best fullback and is far more effective in a 433.

Thought Gaz played really well tonight,ok it was a stroll for
most of the game, but he was into everything in the middle of the park.
Zab,what can ye say about the big man.
On for an hour, done nothing wrong whatsoever.
100% off this guy every game.

oh and Joey Hart was total pish, done fuk all, lazy bastard ;)

Yeah, the Shrewsbury Tart got away with that 'punch' that landed right at an Aris foot. Thought for a second it was going straight back in! Get it sorted, Joe. Bert's havin' yer on about punchin' and catching. He never dropped one, caught everything one-handed. It was Dave Ewing that caused all the trouble!

Barry had an excellent game and really imposed himself on their team. The trouble is that he only seems to do this against weaker teams, but at least he's doing it against some teams these days. He needs to believe in himself more and start doing it to everyone

Opposition not the best, so perhaps we shouldn't read too much into player performances last night....

...but I do notice that playing only two central midfielders (barry + Yaya) forces both of them to "up their game" a bit.

When they play with the usual De Jong comfort blanket behind / alongside them ... for some reason they rarely get out of 2nd gear.

definitely food for thought with regard to playing formation vs weaker teams at home for rest of season.

Barry MOTM, did 2 men's work last night and made it easier for Lescott and Boateng to form a CD partnership, he was everywhere and gave Kolarov the chance to go forward, which, whilst his delivery was lacking added support to Silva and Tevezn to work it down the left. Yaya's deeper distribution role made it so tht the the front 3 and Silva could just 'go out and have some fun'.

As well as Yaya, Barry and Zab played. Silva completely ran the show again last night. He was absolutely EVERYWHERE. Mario, Dzeko and Tevez kept queueing up for his through balls time and time again.
