I thought the same for some early round League Cup games or in Fa Cup to not play KDB, Fernandinho, Silva from the start or sub them off, but usually Pep started them and kept them on for 90 minutes even when it was 3-1 up or something.

So imo KDB, Silva, Fernandinho all gonna start and will play like 80-85 minutes.

Really would like to see Foden, Diaz to get a chance but maybe one of them for 2-3 minutes is the likely. 89 minute sub or so. Yaya will get on before Foden probably.

I doubt we will see Yaya start again for City.

I think we might even see Delph holding on Wednesday with Zinchenko at left back. Danilo at right back.

Aguero will have the night off with Jesus coming in.

Foden will get 90 minutes I reckon.

Ederson
Tosin Stones Laporte Zinchenko
Yaya Delph Foden
Bernado Gab Diaz

Rest: Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Silva, KDB, Sane, Sterling, Aguero
Avoid yellows: Dinho, Gundo, Danilo

I suspect the boss will start strong,he may well introduce the kids second half but, given this is the competition that we will ultimately be judged by,he will not leave anything to chance.

With there being 6 days to the next game and a week in Abu Dhabi the week after I think we'll see a strong team was 2-3 changes from the Chelsea game

The eleven players who will start against Basle , will slot seamlessly into the playing sytem/tactics that have been played all season , the personnel may change but the effectivenss of the team will be a constant , i would play Bravo but suspect Pep will stick by his guns and play Ederson as his european keeper. Bravo/Ederson - Danilo , Stones , Laporte , Zinchenko - Diaz , Delph , Toure , Foden , Sane - Jesus. Presumably Sterling will not be risked and saved for the more important Stoke away on a cold Monday night.

The obvious changes in my view will see Stones, Delph and Sterling start. They need minutes and rhythm. Can’t see Fernandinho start.
No way Pep will put Bravo in goal nor will he play Delph as a defending midfielder. Ederson and Gundogan will probably play again and rightly so.
Finally it would be nice to see Foden take up minutes again to slightly but surely step up his experience.

Hopefully we serve up a good match to entertain the crowd. Please no injuries and minutes/rest respectively to the ones who need it. I expect us to win and certainly won’t let Basel take away our splendid homerecord.
