Battered or breaded fish supper

Depends, can’t beat a good batter, though more chippies than not these days don’t, our 2 in town certainly don’t do batter worth eating so if in doubt I go for the breaded fish supper.
Mind you had an excellent battered fish chips and peas in Whitley Bay last night.
 
I love fish in batter but it’s a pain in the ass dealing with that much oil. What do you do with it when you’re finished, also deep frying in the house stinks the plaice ( yes) out. For that reason I normally cut filet into big chunks, quick dunk in seasoned flour, then into egg wash, then into seasoned and spiced pack. Shallow fry outside on porch, turns out great
