Those who haven't shown a preference on this thread for breaded or battered are the heathens. They are still boiling their fish in a plastic bag!

Cue to remind people to never put fish and chips in a plastic bag if you're buying a take-away. Don't have salt and vinegar either, seaon them when you get home to avoid a soggy mush. Fascinates me how many people must be eating crap fish and chips they've ordered via Deliveroo etc. I go for fish and chips once a week and always eat them in the car so they're fresh and hot. Eatingg fish and chips is a race to eat them as soon as possible after they've come out of the fryer, the longer you leave them the worse they become. I never buy fish and chips from anywhere that doesn't wait til the fish is ordered before cooking them.
