This was posted earlier, Danny.

It's there in black and white - Priority for European away games goes to seasoncard holders on the Cup Direct Scheme. You're sorted :)

There are mixed reports about demand for this game, quite a few think that high prices and short notice will curb demand.

Ahhh so it is, when I posted my original question I was using the Missus laptop, and the picture didn't show up for some reason. Cheap crap! I can see it now though.

Many thanks :)

Hmm, I don't think that means that this overrides loyalty points. You can't have everyone on the cup scheme suddenly just gets first dibs on away cup tickets on day 1 because there simply aren't enough.

I guess it will be similar to the FA Cup final.

e.g.
Day 1 7000 points + cup scheme
Day 2 7000 points
Day 3 6000 points + cup scheme
Day 4 6000 points etc etc

Thus giving priority to cup scheme holders.[/quote]

That's not how they did for the semi and the final at all mate:

It was more like: For the semi

1st day 7,000 pts and anyone on whatever pts on the cup scheme
2ns day 6,500 pts
3rd day 6,000 pts

for the final
1st day 7000
2nd day 6,500
3rd day 6,000 and anyone on whatever pts on cup scheme

When I read the OP, I thought talk of a possible ballot for this game was complete and utter bollocks. However, I've received an e-mail from our supporter's club branch echoing the OP's words that this may indeed go to a ballot. I fecking hope not, and to be honest I can't see why the club would do something like that anyway.

I can't see the bulk of the tickets going to a ballot after the club have just frisked a lot of us for £50 for extra points but I wonder if they're going to ballot the Supporters Club allocation?

Yes agreed, but you can do that with 20/30K tickets, you can't do it with 3000.

-- Tue Aug 30, 2011 12:29 pm --

Agreed, the club stated in Q&A's pre-season and on the web-site that loyalty points will remain.
You can't sell platinum tickets based on double loyalty points and then render them useless with ballots and such like.

Reckon they'll do 7000 on cup scheme, 6000 on scheme, 5000 on scheme, anyone on scheme, then 7000 not on scheme etc.

There is no way they will do a ballot no matter how much the demand is.

The loyalty points are to rewards those with most points, specially where demand is high.

Isn't that just within the branch like Reddish (i presume you mean them) did last season for Blackpool away?

there appears to be crossed wires here, i never once said that this game was going to a ballot i said it will happen in the future after they have expanded the stadium...the e mail off the supporters club is warning people that due to high demand they wont get all they ask for and each indivual branch may hold a ballot between their own members, its up to the branches to sort out..like i said anyone who thinks that this game wont sell out..well enough said

It doesn't quite come across like that - this is how it's worded:

We've been informed that tickets for this game could go to ballot.

But even if it's not an internal branch ballot, the more I think about it, it probably does only apply to the supporters clubs and what they'll be allocated.

I always get my own ticket anyway rather than relying on the branch because I have a a decent number of points (7960 at the last count).

-- Tue Aug 30, 2011 1:58 pm --

You didn't, but the OP suggested it might go to ballot.

I can see anyone on the cup scheme wanting a ticket, getting a ticket, without problem. I'm on 4910 pts so i don't imagine i'll have a problem.

Normally with United in these instances you have to prove your travel arrangements before they release the ticket, probably to stop touting.

It's 4 weeks till the game so ticket details won't be released yet, i don't think arrangements for the Fulham game have been made yet.
