I am doing something similar flying from Stansted and staying in Munich ..
Out to Memmingen - £12.50 and then train about an 1hr to Munich
Return from Salzburg day after game -£70 flight

There is a special bus service from Memmingen to Munich starting from 9,90 EUR (probably best to book it early) - about every hour - takes an 1 hour 20 minutes

Just gone to season ticket members 15000 points , still 10,000 more than i've got. Still going via Berlin train to Munchen, hopefully get a ticket from somewhere.
