Bayern Munich (A) | Post Match Thread

Fuck off all you 'fans' calling this an awful performance. A 1-1 draw away at bayern Munich to see us into the semi finals of the champions league, with a missed penalty, we could have even won it. Fucking awful performance my arse.
I was more impressed tonight than last week tbh. Controlled 90% of it

Its 24 years since united won that treble, 4 days before we struggled to overcome Gillingham in a play off final to get out of the 3rd tier.

If anyone on 30th May 1999 thought we'd ever be in the position to equal that feat, fair play.

Wonderful times.

No way in a million years. I remember we were so bad and starved of success some people wanted an open top bus parade for winning the third tier play off final. I honestly thought I'd die without seeing us win another trophy. Funnily enough the most depressing time for me was when we were back in the premier league. Such was the gulf in class between the nailed on top four every season, due to the champions league money and lure, I realised like the rest we were just bit part players in the game unless we got a miracle. Luckily we did.

Perfect performance from us.

Yet weirdly i didn't feel relaxed until there were about 10 minutes left.

Happens a lot with me in Big Games to be fair.

Bearing in mind i am an older Blue, and there was a time for us older Blues When The Sky always fell in :-)

I hope we get this Madrid Monkey of our back.

Quick question, at the full time whistle after pep hugged tuchel he went towards the tunnel and hugged a guy from city in a cream coat, who was that please, because he's promised that coat to one of my workmates if we win the champions league :)

I wonder if Nathan had a strain pre-kick off ? He seemed slow to react & turn, especially in the first half, his injury is a worry for the Arsenal game, I don’t fancy Laporte there & Bernie had a right ding dong with Saka at their place
Nah mate, Coman was just that good, he exposed Aké's lack of pace when faced with a proper speedster who was on it.

Imagine if Davies had started instead of Cancelo? With Davies & Sané on the left & Coman on the right, we'd have had a whole different set of problems, & we'd have seen Walker a lot sooner imo...

I'm okay with a similar defensive performance against Real and come out of it with a draw.
I'd take a draw at there place but youd think they'd attack at us more at there place in the 1st leg wanting a lead for the 2nd leg so if we counter more efficiently we could possibly sneak a win there, the difference this time is the 2nd leg is at our place which could well be more beneficial for us. My prediction 1st leg 1-1, 2nd leg 2-1 to us.
