Bayern Munich (A) | Post Match Thread

It's official...

Tuchel is an arse.

Not only lambasting the referee (waiting with bated breath for his fine and suspension), but threw his own grounds staff under the bus publicly (I agree the pitch was shite but you have a word with them privately… if you aren’t a ****, anyway).

Is he trying to get sacked?

Tuchel is an arse.

Tbh most of the comments on the football itself (not the ref etc), Pep would probably agree with. He said himself afterwards that this was not a 4-1 tie, that he doesn’t feel better than Bayern just because we went through, that the champions league is always a “coin toss” and last year we lost the coin toss, this year we won it (so far). Tuchel’s tone/attitude I hate, but some of the points aren’t exactly false. It was fine margins and they probably did enough for about 4 goals over the 2 legs. But that’s what this competition is all about - moments. And in the big moments, we were there. It was in general a very closely contested tie but we were very solid and good in both boxes, particularly at home.

Two things.

First of all:
Inter Milan, AC Milan, Real Madrid and... little Manchester City. That is the company we are currently in and we fucking belong. Take a minute to let that sink in.

Second:

Fucking happy we get a draw here. Law of averages say we won't win every game rest if the season. I'll gladly take the draws and losses when it doesn’t matter
Win away to Madrid and a home draw. ;-)

BT spent pre match and most of the game bogging up Munich yet as soon as it came to last few minutes suddenly it was all about how good we were. Twats. Shame about Ak, hope it’s not too bad but looks like Laporte will have a job to do next few weeks at left back. Hope we can put a decent side out on Saturday as we barely got out of second gear tonight.
It was a hard game tonight. There will be a lot of heavy legs tomorrow. Expect changes for Sheffield.

Doesn't he play same role as Rodri? My son asked tonight "dad, Rodri or Kimmich"

Assumed they were same position. Obvious answer by the way.
Id have rodri, but if we're taking players from Bayern then I'm taking Davies, Kimmich and musiala and seeing how they fit. As a side note I'm not taking Cancelo back.

Tuchel is an arse.

That is the biggest ‘lmao’ I’ve done in a long while “we had them”..

A modern mourinho who is tactically obsolete, already, at his tender years..

Wouldn’t it be refreshing to hear a manager throw superlatives after a total dismantling from his peer (superior)… pep, in his end game, always finds the way to better his rival, not always initially as we’ve seen, but like his teams, the long game is the sum of all parts.. beat him 3/4 times out of 5, by game 10 he eradicates the stat…

Pep is peaking before our eyes, however, the very best sustain this as opposed to falling off a cliff, he has more tricks than Houdini still to reveal in this illustrious career!

Fair enough mate. And yeah, Cancelo joins Laurent Charvet, Michael Ball and Danny Mills for me now. Ex city full back scrap heap. Miles better without him

Kinda glad we drew, we weren't gonna win every game from now until the end of the season so will take a draw in a game where the tie is already wrapped up.

Think the players played the tie really well and it was all over as soon as Haaland got his standard goal.

just hoping Ake was being overly cautious and it's not as bad as feared

It kind of went how i thought

The players played like we had one foot into the next round and with two big games coming up in the next 7 days. Bayern had to go out all guns blazing from the start and we weren't In a position where we really needed to go toe to toe.

Its a two legged tie and we did damage when we had to and managed the tie when we had to and left plenty in the tank.

Yeah that's what I was saying

Plus Haaland is gonna miss a pen now and again, happens to the best of them, so got that one out of his system

After the initial pressure i think momentum changed as we dropped back to gain control and we ended up with a clinical performance which was order of the day.

It feels like we've learned our lessons from all those missed opportunities in CL over the years and now have turned into a complete team that can close out results, comfortable with playing on counter and controlling natural attacking instinct which shows the maturity we've finally achieved, whether we win CL or not remains to be seen but there is no doubt this team is ready to win the CL.

This win is dedicated to all those days we had to endure after drawing bayern in our group again and again in our early years in CL
