A day trip to Munich during the Oktoberfest is an insult to all concerned.

Have you scene the hotel prices?? If the flight gets there early enough it still gives you a full day to sample the delights. Ours (Singapore airline)gets there at 1215 on the day of the game returning the follwing day at 0600 ish. No need for a hotel

I emailed them earlier suggesting we do an "overnight" without the hotel. Game won't finish until 11 local time & flight next morning was 6am with other airlines. This only gives you around 5 hours anyway with having to be at the airport for 4am. My idea is forget the hotel & just get on the lash for 5hours instead! I've gotta be in work the next day so can't gave two days off but no hotel to save cost makes sense.

This would be perfect for me after I ended up waiting too long on the singapore airlines flight

Think I'm going to have to one of the other ones, gutted to miss Munich but a day trip doesn't appeal to me and the flights and hotels are just too expensive.

I've camped for the fest before and it is well recommended.A good camping site will have a bar on the grounds to go back to when the fest shuts, wonderful times!
