He probably deserves a rest before the Napoli game anyway...

"City's £24million signing Samir Nasri returned from international duty with a hand injury, but should be available to face Wigan on Saturday, even if he may have to wear a protective cast. However, Gareth Barry is a doubt after twisting his ankle playing for England against Wales"

Should please a few on here - those that can type a lot but know absolutely nowt about football......?

there were some press reports about Nasri suffering a broken metatarsal - thnkfully that seems not to be true

Barrys been playing well this year, but milliner can do his job without much fuss, think we will be up the other end of the pitch for the majority of this game though so should be no problem!

3-0 city, dzeko 2' silva

Gareth Barry can't perform weekend-midweek-weekend anyway. He's always shit in one of them games. He's just not that kind of physical specimen, his recovery is quite slow after decent exhertions. Since he played well for England in both games this game against Wigan would be the one he'd struggle in. So I'm kinda glad he might no be able to play.

None of these players started (or even played) for their countries in midweek (or at all):
Clichy
Lescott
de Jong
Nasri
Silva
Agüero
Tevez
AJohnson
Balotelli.

Plus Milner only started one of the two internationals. So we'll have a fair few fresh players for Wigan!

-- Thu Sep 08, 2011 7:45 am --

Tarsals and metatarsals are in the foot. Carpals (hence carpel-tunnel syndrome in the palm/wrist area) and metacarpals are in the hand. It's rumoured he's injured a metacarpal. How badly I don't know. He'll be fine to play!

I think you will find that Nasri, Johnson and Balotelli all made substitute appearances so they DID play midweek.

Hasn't Nasri always had something wrong with his hand? I've noticed that while at Arsenal he regularly had a bandage on his hand.

Edit: Regularly is an overstatement, maybe he just had it a few times.

When is Hargreaves expected to be totally fit ?

For the time being, I'd rather have Yaya with Milner in the midfield and keep the frontal four that destroyed the spuds... Wigan will have a hard time getting the ball.

Hope Bazza will be back soon enough !!
