BBC Director - "To Axe Left Wing Comedy"

Serious question, are there actually any genuinely funny right-wing comedians in this country?!

Good question but is that because there are none or because none of the broadcasters will platform any?

I think there'd be a candlelit vigil on Twitter if Diane Abbott or Jeremy Corbyn were laid into in the same way that Patel or Johnson are.

Likewise, if an upcoming comedian started criticising cancel culture or cultural appropriation or speech controls or any of the other bollocks advocated by people who claim to be left-wing then I think a lot of comedians would fall by the wayside than if the routine was the same old stuff we hear about Trump et al all the time.

The comedian who does the best job at criticising the victim culture of the so-called left is Ricky Gervais but I think he can get away with it because he's already established.

Thank God the former two have been immune from being laid into by broadcasters.

They've gotten a lot of abuse but I can't really recall much from BBC comedians, especially not Diane Abbott. That's not to say the woman needs any more mockery because I think she has genuine mental health issues and I'm astonished she was so close to being the UK's Home Secretary but I don't think she'd be afforded the same privilege from the comedy world if she was a Conservative.

As for cancel culture, the BBC have a duty of impartiality so cancelling people because they have so many people with the same views is a bit different to sacking someone from River Island for example because they put something on their Twitter imo.

Whilst we are on comedy, 'The Thick of It' is EXCELLENT and I think it was originally a BBC show?

It isn't any wing in particular but well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it.

No, there isn't. The right wing in general lack any form of creativity, even their philosophy is dull as dishwater, the only thing they are good at is being cunts, they are very good at that. Brilliant even, or in the words of Johnson "world beating" cunts.

I had to laugh when i saw Bernard Manning described as a Right Wing comedian, was he fuck, he is not Jim Davidson, Bernard got Northern working class humour and whilst some wishy washy Liberals may have been offended by some of his stuff, he wasn't right wing.

Rik Mayall's portrayal of Alan B'stard is brilliantly funny satire of the RW as they are unfunny cunts, only interested in inflicting misery on the working class as they line their own pockets.
