Even if the op owns a TV he does not need a TV license.
He may use it to watch DVDs, play games, watch BBC iPlayer post broadcast shows without the need for a license.
You need a license only to watch live TV as broadcast.
Anyone who thinks differently is plain wrong.
So if we all scrapped our tellies, and only ever watched BBC iPlayer...then how would the content on the iPlayer be paid for?
I don't mind the TV Licence. It's what, just over £100 a year? For that I get all the BBC tv channels, I also get to listen to Five Live and I visit the BBC News and Sport website several times a day. Good value.
