Hey Mods I don't know if you want to merge this with something, but I felt the gossip column on BBC sport.com deserved its own thread.

I thought id start this tread to specifically talk about the gossip column on BBC sport.com. Todays is both mouth watering and goosebumps inducing in terms of who we a rumoured to be linked with. Messi, Neymar and Pogba all being linked now Pep is coming. Its such and exciting time to be a blue, and I'm sure the gossip column will suggest a lot more names in the up coming months.

The BBC announced this morning that it was the biggest thing to happen in the club's history since forming in 2008

Bitter Salford rags

Pep just made every shitty sport journalists job easy. They will be picking out footballers at random and filling their column inches saying how we are going to buy them.

Funny - Pep has a massive 150m to spend. Then 120 for Messi, 105 for Neymar, 80 for Pogba.... :-)

The DT have assembled a team for the start of the next season and it is every MCFC fan's wish list!! -when yer stuffed high on the naughty stuff washed down with a crate of 15%!

They've been doing this ever since . . . . . . . . . ! Every conceivable player has been linked, probably by their agent dropping the name of MCFC into the mix and hoping that other clubs would jump in for their man before we gobbled him up and sat him on the two hundred and fifty yard long bench!

What shite these people make up, beggars belief. Apparently, the RagDipperMeedya were invited to all the discussions, sat alongside the lawyers when the contract was being drawn up and published £45m as Pep's wage packet. It might well be, and I hope he gets handsomely paid, but they just pile speculation upon sewage upon shite upon one RagDipperMeedya defecation after another!

Maybe they should all get together and agree what the fees are and the budget, that way it at least gives the appearance of credibility/authenticity

I take it you're not very enamoured with our friends from the Fourth Estate then?

;-)

No doubt there's negative coverage in some places, especially if you go looking for it.

Today's The Times is a 6 page City / Pep love in. The back page headline "The greatest deadline day signing ever" sets the tone and everything is superbly positive including comments on how the announcement was handled.

Loved 5 Live's programme on "the implications for united". The United fan they had on with Terry Christian was hysterically funny. Made Christian seem only half bitter by comparison, They should play it as part of the pre match entertainment on Saturday.

BBC Northern News on Today:

'Manchester United move into contention for a CL place winning 3-0'
Manchester City win 1-0 with a goal by Aguero'

Sally Nugent on the main programme did mention City staying in second place but she was confused, wetting her knickers over Jamie Vardy's 'Goal of the Decade'.

It was a good goal but was it as good as the fawning media make out in these days when every Rooney goal is the Best of the Season?

Silly Sally Nugent always reminds me of one of a group of mums sitting on a sofa at a coffee morning who enthuse and think they are experts at football because they saw their little lad playing for the primary school team. Are the comments her own or is she reading a script and just supplying her own gushing?

Nugent is incredibly vacuous. If you catch her when Rooney's done anything, it's pathetic.

As for BBC Northern, well, it's not really true anyway is it? Before the match, utd were 5 pts off 4th. After, they're 5 pts off 4th.

I'd love it, LOVE IT, if Sheikh Mansour set aside a tiny fraction of his wealth to sue every newspaper and every fucking scumbag journalist who wrote something inaccurate or libellous about us. The snivelling apologies and retractions printed in the papers every day would warm my heart.

Vacuous? The look on the faces of the other presenters tells it all.

She should be sent to the corresponding ITV programme where they will not have to do do the dumbing down job they did on Susannah Reid.

Also from the Beeb, Peps 10 part introduction to Manchester. Number 10 is a doozy. Don't we just love the BBC ?

Saw that. Clearly a red on work experience/apprenticeship/YTS who snuck that in. Or an extremely sad 'professional'.
