BBC: "How to stop Man City"

He’s anything but a rag. He merely (tried to) played for them, embarrassingly so. He’s Ipswich and Celtic through and through. Refers to both as ‘us’. Never dies for Spurs or United.
On paper maybe but he never stops batting for the rags and he does call them we a lot

It's only because we did something spectacular last season that we are getting good press, the rags and dippers have been lorded for yrs and yrs for achieving not much, thats the difference for me,a slight drop from us and not winning the league next season and our press will be back to normal,it'll be pep..one season wonder lol
The reason why is clear though. It’s ok to acknowledge the size of them both globally and in this country compared to us. They’re bound to get more coverage and morons tapping their drum. That’s just good business sense. We are up there though now and in years to come we will be the ones lauded even for just taking a shit in the garden. It is what it is, but the thing with the ones like your good self is that anything positive is only being done through gritted teeth. It really isn’t the case. Saint pep and all things nauseating about city - other fans’ words - wasn’t a myth.

on what the bbc report is making out is that 3 or 4 key points you can get at manchester city and beat them ??? but doing it is another thing pep and the coaches are not daft and i truly believe that pep will have something else for this season and little changes and another master stroke will be in the pipe line

also the report misses a very big point (the referee) he does control the games better than any other manager vs manchester city, we must be on our game and keep him out of the game like last season because he will not need any encouragement or silly mistakes or bad mouthing to get city players in his book they will bang on it from day one

I think the biggest take away for me on that was how many aerial scores came from the City left side where we played a combination of Danilo, Delph, and Zinchenko all out of position. Assuming Mendy can get back on his game quickly and stay healthy, I think that teams won't be able to exploit that side as much. I would assume if they had mapped out all the scores for the season, the setup would look much the same as the 8 aerial ones.

There were times last season when we were simply awesome.
The way we dismantled an excellent Napoli team.
How we romped away from Stoke when they annoyed us by pulling the score back to 3-2.
The first half of the home Derby when we ran the rags ragged demonstrated the real gap between us and second in the league.
So many moments like that during the last season.
However, it was an utter disgrace that the stand out team of the Premier league did not grace the stage for the Champions league final.
We were cheated out of that appearance and anyone with half an eye open would have understood....

Those two matches were footballing perfection imo, espesh away. I still struggle to believe that was not our limit under Pep. The way both teams played for me was what football is meant to be. I like to think i am articulate with the spoken or written word when i need to be but i find myself searching for the correct term to describe these matches. I rarely re-watch matches but the away match i have seen at least 10 times.
