Its two separate issues and has only come about because Osborne transferred responsibility from the treasury to the BBC for the OAP licence.

I have no issue with the BBC being representative of the population at large, it also includes a target for disability which I wholehearted support, if a national broadcaster is to represent the people it should represent all the people, not just a select few.

Do people have an issue with Pobol y cwm, a BBC programme aimed at Welsh language speakers? I don't think so, its catering to an audience that a private broadcaster would not, BBC Alba show Scottish football, I am not interested particularly but then I don't watch CBeebies because I am not interested, apart from SpongeBob obviously.

The role of a national broadcaster is surely to reach every part of society, the private broadcasters can concentrate on providing shite American stuff if people want to watch that.

And I have said, nobody should pay a TV licence it should be funded directly by the Government. So its free for everyone.

I understand it being representative of society, my (ironic) comment
was about the fact that the BBC doesn't need to blow £100 mill of our
money promoting diversity, when anyone with eyes can see that this particular
organisation has no issue with it now. BAME people are involved in virtually
all the broadcast areas of it.

Most of them are scared to death of being labelled as racist.

They don’t want Twitter to blow up with indentity politics obsessed nutters saying “the BBC are racist, look there’s no black people on this show!”

I hadn’t even noticed, haven’t watched a lot of games anyway to be fair but I saw something the other day that Sky Sports have had a black person on every single panel since the BLM thing kicked off, that’s 50% of the panel at the moment due to Covid-19, with black people being 3% of the population.

Sky Cricket have an ex England women’s player who’s a black woman on for analysis currently, I can’t help but feel the standard of cricket she’s played doesn’t warrant her inclusion to comment on the England men’s Test side.... sorry to anyone who gets offended but it’s true.

She only gets a small slot to say one thing every few hours and it’s so forced.

Cant help but feel it’s tokenism and actually patronising to the BAME community.

Surely everyone just wants best person for the job?

Here’s a radical idea... treat every skin colour as equals and base inclusion on merit, specifically on the individual.

Rachel Riley (I am not her biggest fan) replied "ironic from a Arsenal fan in India"

So, apparently she's racist, having a go at someone based in a country that the British Empire enslaved.... So that makes all football banter where the recipient is based in a country of colour (Soz I just dont know what words to use anymore). Imagine that.

I loved BLM and the change it could have brought, but I am quickly getting turned off it, in fact the bullshit around it is making me quite angry.

What makes that story even more funny is Rachel Riley is from Essex, Sarfend if I'm not mistaken, so her taking the piss out of an Indian Gunners fan is rich.
Having said that, she really does have a magnificent arse.

It's amazing. She's is objectively a sight to behold but the minute I knew she was a Cantona loving Essex rag, just a complete turn-off, like school librarian levels of unattractiveness.

Despite her raggishness, clearly phenomenally bright though, in being balanced in this modern world where you can't comment on a woman's appearance for fear of being an oppressive, gaslighting, fundamentalist gerbil.

Tabloid papers make a point of identifying the more idiotic responses and trying to frame it as more significant than it is - is that what's happened here?

Some of the “News” stories that I’m paying for that BBC News put out are bafflingly shite!

With all the big news stories going on around the world, I’ve been sat here watching the News in the last half an hour and there has been a story on women not being allowed to get their eyebrows and lips done. One woman said; “when a woman leaves my shop having had her eyebrows done, it can make her feel whole again, we shouldn’t be denying them this!”

And then we had a Father and Daughter in a car park talking about figure skating on gravel instead of ice. At the end they asked if the girl could show us some moves and if the Dad could talk us through the moves. As she skated off the Dad said “she’s just going up there, errrrrr, she’s doing a few twizzles, errr, she’s coming back down here now”!

And it’s a regular thing. Inane bollocks they report on at times is fucking ridiculous! The other week we were hearing about Johnny Depp’s court case, every hour, day-by-day... who gives a fucking shit?! There are a thousand more important news stories going on in the world than the BBC show us.

The above is pure ITV shit. The BBC should be providing a proper news service for people who aren’t thick as fuck!

I’m someone opposed to privatising the BBC but fuck me, paying for this bollocks is pure annoying!
 
The Telegraph reporting Lewis Goodall now being accused of “off the scale bias” as it emerges he worked for a left wing think tank and has written heavily against the government.

I am not against anyone having a political bias but they should be open in declaring such.

The BBC had Darren Grimes on earlier - failed student and hairdresser - to talk about education? Presume that was coz he once attended a school. He is also one of the leading lights of the " Defund the BBC " movement - I bet he accepted the appearance fee off them though.

which they did in 1969. They wanted to change the format back then - as they do now - however by public demand the changes did not take place. Nobody campaigned to have the BBC privatised then though.

You see the reason behind this is to explore different ways to do the proms concert - ideal time to do so as the Eton mosh pit won't be present this year. But those with an axe to grind - privatise the BBC - jump on it, twist the story around and the usual suspects join in - its not about the songs its not about the exploration of the proms and how they are presented.

99% of those affronted by this will only know the two pieces of music in question and would't sit through the entire last night broadcast never mind listen to any of the other nights.
