BBC SPOTY | Team of the Year: CITY | Coach of the Year: GUARDIOLA | World Sport Star: HAALAND

I’m not being funny but all Mary Earps has done is play reasonably well in a World Cup and if this warrants SPOTY then the bbc can fuck right off
England's women reached a World Cup final for the first time. She saved a penalty in the final, and she was the only England player to get one of the individual awards.

Add in that she also made a splash forcing Nike into a u-turn when they initially didn't sell her replica shirt, and she was always going to be nominated.

Dettori's 'retirement' has just been one long nauseating ego trip that thanks to the media milked every moment...........and he'll probably be back next season.
Yep. As an ardent racegoer, I agree 100% with that.
It's certainly all about 'Frankie' that's for sure. And
he'll be back again next year, without a doubt.
He won't be able to help himself. I bet a lot of the
other top jocks can't wait to see the back of him.

A piss poor side footed penalty that the Spanish girl telegraphed which way she was going and it was a perfect height to save and a few girls want a replica shirt fucking wow. She’s still a loser and the English women failed to qualify for the next tournament mainly due to her poor keeping. I’m surprised Bruno isn’t up for international sports personality too

Laughably piss-poor.

The honest answer is that the BBC, with a relatively limited sports broadcast budget, is commercially invested in the success of the women's game.
